I was one of the first guys (guinia Pig LOL) to get the O ring kit.
If installed correctly it does take out 85% of the clatter. I also put Orings on my weight pivot bolts(not part of the kit, just did it myself. With both things, I dont thing shims will work, an O ring acts like a cushin.
The 3 cylinder is very unique with the 240 deg firing pulses which is long enough duration to have accel and decel of the crank.
I know the season before last I was one of the main guys getting the word out on this, and between two 7 or so page threads it seemed like 50 guys got the fix and I dont remember anybody that was unhappy with it.

it does quiet the sled down if installed correctly, antoher help is to install feeler guage guage between the clutch and thrust bushings on the weights and rollers untill you find the correct thickness that alows easy movement but no slack, then using a roper punch, punch a hole in them and cut them into a square with tin snips, install them in the clutch behind the thrust washer.

I just brought home my new 2006 vector ER and noticed the clutch was noisy when idling in the garage.
Is this still a problem for 2006, or suppossed to be fixed ? Is there a TSB for this I can ask the dealer about ?
Anything else I should be aware of for a new Vector ER 2006 ?
Thanks
Dean

clutch noise
You might want to use the manometer and air balance the carbs. You will find an improvement on the clutch chatter, if the air sync. is right on..

I've had the clutch noise fix installed last year and have been happy with the results.
I have purchased a clutch kit and was wondering if the noise will return after installing it.
Where exactly are these o rings/shims installed in the clutch? the pins for the weights? the rollers?

I have an 05 Vector. The first year the clutch made alot of noise, last year I had the dealer install the clutch fix and there was no noise all of last year which was about 3,000 miles.

Just started mine the other day and it is a bit quieter after the second update has been installed.

So is this something you would hear even on a brand new "not yet broken in" sled? My 07 Nytro has no clutch noise when idling or does the noise come along after break-in?

Clutches were changed/updated in 06. If it doesn't make noise now it probably never will.

Does anyone have some pics of the o-ring kits? I like to see what they look like so I can get a better understanding of where they are installed in the clutch.
