I ran against an Apex this past weekend and was not impressed with the power. I believe it was stock. Ran just over 1400 feet on packed snow on a small lake up north. (Back Lake in NH) I would take him out of the hole to 40ish then he would pull ahead by 1/2 Length. We also had a Bone stock 05 RX1 that ran the same. There was a ZR 900 running identical to the Apex. I was not pulling enough RPM's also. Only around 10100 or so. My speedo would not get past 104MPH. The Stock RX1 would only hit 103MPH.

That's strange...I just ran a CPR clutch 04 against a stock Apex this weekend and the 04 was not even close. I was even pulling a fast (120mph SRX) from bottom to top..in alittle bit of snow. I think on ice the SRX has slightly longer legs being that the apex is stock but with alittle snow on the lake he couldn't catch me. The RX isn't even close enough to see what sled your racing lol.

I think some of the new sleds need to break in some before you can make any real comparisons...I'm talking at least 1,000 miles. IMO

This doesn't really surprise me seeing you have an ECP kit, Heavy Hitters and a looser engine Maddog. For the record, this is one of the few if not only threads I have read about the carbed motor beating the FI. Keep in mind the FI is pushing over 15HP more. Most RX-1/Warriors dynoed in the mid 130's while the Fuelie is right at 150.

- None, looking now!
That is strange. My buddy has the same sled and I waxed it with my RTX. I beat this sled with only a couple hundred miles on it. I had to let off due to the engine not being all the way broke in yet. Perhaps the driver of that sled wasn't pushing it????

i dare say the x out hooks the mono. meaning getting more hp to the ground. might = out the 15 horse.
Yes if I get the e-ram working I am looking forward to racing a stock apex.

Never said I beat him, just not impressed. He beat me, but only by a 1/2 Length. I'd take him out of the hole and he would pull even at about 60ish, and then pull me by a 1/2 length. I even raced him by starting two sled length behind him. I'd pull right up to him and then the same thing would happen. By the way, I have only been beaten by one SRX so far.
PS , I believe I saw close to 900 Miles on his speedo.

Oops, I read your original post wrong, I was thinking you beat him. I'm definately not surprised now. Just hope he doesn't clutch it now, then you'll probably be impressedMaddog said:Never said I beat him, just not impressed. He beat me

You must have a problem with that Apex.... I can drive by a stock RX1.
I think setup, track, snow conditions play a major part.
I raced my buddies '06 1000 renegade 136" track with my '03 rx1 136" track for a long stretch. Both pinned we could only get 105-106 out of them. But we were also running 4-5" of fresh powder.
But setup won...I dropped back to 90 mph, cracked the trottle and pulled the ski's off the ground with my mt.straps and passed him up in about a mile at 117 mph.
So, what im saying is....there are alot of factors.
I have only owned this rx-1 for a couple weeks now, but im impressed.
