Ratching sound

no studs......just came back from garage...i took all tension off the track to get a sag in the middle...turned track by hand and at one point the track well bind up and go tight....got to do with drivers ....guess ill find out more tomorrow at the dealer
Please let me know what they say or do , either here on this thread or PM me thanks so much

Mine did the same, when I first took out in the field. Only 7 miles on it now and I don't notice it now.. That clutch rattle though... Ha ha run it!

SOOOO....does it stop doin it after some miles are put on it

thanks guys for all the input ....think i was stressing a lil over this ordeal..kinda wasn't expecting to hear anything like that on maiden voyage...but i guess all will be good....... there is a lot of knowledge here in these pages and a lot of knowledgeable people here as well.....TY rocks..

I battled with this last season trying to align the track on Toms 17....Never really could get it correct like other brands ive owned. So when Tom mentioned to me his new 18 has a clicking noise, I then checked my 18 running on stand, and yep same noise. Im guessing they all do this, and will be worse/louder inside(dry) on a stand ect....and they are near impossible to align correctly, even after installing 4 wheel axle. Seems to be the nature of these tracks and just about everyone says to ride it, let it break in and it does get better.

Im assuming a normal track fully clipped would not do this. My 12 procross I slapped in a 1" hacksaw day one, and it was perfect like a normal sled. So it very well might be these so called "silent" tracks that seem to be the culprit and far from silent. LOL.

As long as it doesn't rob top speed I really dont care. ;)

well the verdict is in ....just got back from dealer...the noise was cause by excessive amount of flash on the drivers from factory, coming out through the track window inturn causing the track to ride up on the driver...couple runs around the lot and its all but gone now...time to put a couple kms on her today and start the breakin ...

What do you mean by excessive flash?

yep if u only seen how out of align the driver r and suspension its a joke , i had my sled in the shop lifted up with a fork lift , wow nothing is straight , there is room for improvement in this part of the sled if your a person that wants perfection ,

Not mine, I looked at mine and measured things up when I first got it, as my 12 was off. But this one is really good. Actually better then my DOOs were for drivers being centered into windows, and track being spaced correctly to tunnel on each side. Dealer told me he gets lots of complaints, and he has sprayed clips with silicone spray and the sound goes away. lol

Not fully clipped, also the way ever other clip taps on the new thick slider, and worse in reverse on a stand being all dry....

Im more mad about the hard to get at coolant leak i gotta fix, grrr....
