This may be old news to most of you but I thought I'd pass it along. The procedure for turning on the lights and gauge without starting the engine has never worked on my RS as stated. (key on while holding thumb warmer down) This weekend I was reading an old snowmobiler mag and it stated an alternative procedure that works on my sled:
Push kill switch down / turn key on / push thumb warmer down and hold / pull kill switch up / wait 8 secs and system will power up.
Not sure why mine won't work like most of yours.

Well 2more, mine works the same as yours. Wont work the normal way either. Thanks for the procedure.

I have an 06 rage and mine works when you hold the thumb warmer switch down and turn the key on. Wait 8 to 10 seconds and vulla you have lights.

Right, that's the way it's supposed to work on the '05's also, but I've heard a few folks say that theirs didn't work. (mine included) After reading the magazine tip, I tried the alternative on mine, and that's the only way it will work.
