Just a curious question to those wanting to buy a 900T or sticking with their Winders. What's most important to you guys. Ride? Handling? Speed? Sled build quality? Comfort? Accessories? I'm just curious to know either way. For me I have tried a 3 other brands and seem to return to Ski-Doo. For a few reasons but mostly ride quality, overall build quality, with IMO superior engineering / fit and finish / materials quality, and their accessories are probably the best in the business as well.
The most important? I bought what is the fastest most powerful stock snowmobile on EARTH!! Number one, second to NONE! Also why I went with what I thought, was the best Sidewinder package.
Cannot do that with many things in life with my being just a regular Joe. Know what I mean?
I can also say that it has spectacular appearance qualities that appealed to me.
Most would not buy a first year’s production model, but I was surfing the snow wave when I first purchased and then tried out this thing.
Smoooooth power, best ride of any sled that I have owned, and great handling once I got rid of the stock skis.
4 stroke reliability is a tough one to beat. This is my 3rd 4 stroke sled. Have never blown up any of those yet, but could go on for a longgggggg time writing about my past 2 stroke rebuilds. Yep, almost all of them, you see I cannot leave them stock and with today’s fuel problems for 2 strokes. Even if I did ride a 2 stroke stocker, we have trails in our state that can be really tough on them(long smooth and fast). Still parting out my last 2 smokes....
To make a long story shorter, I am just a trail racer uh I mean rider, and am very happy with what my winder can do, and gonna have a long summer waiting for the next snow season to cure one of my addictions!!!
Now you tell me what and why on yours please!

Oh you mean the famous 7% optimistic superflow dyno at dynotech? Not dissing the sled since I got into it in fb but I would bet 152hp on any other dyno. Remember this is the same dyno that gave us 163hp from an 800etec lol.

Idc what percentage you want to use. It keeps it apples to apples with the sidewinder for reference. 163 900t ace 204 sidewinder. It's just a comparison tool. It also tells you that it makes the same power as an 800 class sled etec. Doesn't matter if it's high or low. Scale is to scale.

Ok my wife keeps telling me and my friends he won’t have this sled very long cause something else will come out I will want. I told her I have one of the best sleds on the market with all the power I want and nothing can touch it so I have no plans on getting another sled. There would have to be some serious changes in the House of Yamaha to make a move.

I don't hear anyone arguing that the dyno could be off on the 998 turbo, 204 was a pre-production motor but everyone swears by it as gospel for all 998 turbo's!

It's all just numbers. Make the sidewinder 188 and the 900t 152. It's still to the same rough scale lol. For the record mine and many others all got right around 204 hp give or take 2 hp when dynoed at the same place with our production models. It's at least consistent and repeatable which is all I need from a dyno to tune and show improvement from mods

It's no Sidewinder but I'm sure it will perform pretty good. The 850 lovers are sweating it out. I'll bet the 900T will be ticking off lots of them next year. 4 strokes out perform 2 strokes with similar power just because they are easier to clutch and more consistent. 2 strokes are for chain saws.

I think the 900 ACE turbo will convert more Doo riders into the 4 stroke camp once they find out that they can have good trail power and the reliability to go with it.

Dealer tells me BRP has already approved an official BRP re-flash of 180hp. Being BRP, ofcourse they pull the warranty and likely will charge up the ying yang. Actually smart of them to get all those potential flash sales before the aftermarket gets theirs done.
It will all come down to the iTC and how well they can get that sled to early spool, to provide snap. That will be the make/break of the 900t for my liking. But it wont ever be the big power sled I own now.

In comparison to their Maverick SxS, they have a larger turbo and a smaller one......is the one on the sled the same turbo as one of the SxS's or something completely different? My buddy has the smaller turbo on his new Maverick, stock is around 120 HP, he had it flashed to same HP as a stock Maverick with larger turbo at 172HP.

Hey Dan. Keep an eye out for a 300hp 900 ace to be ready before snow flies...

Please keep us posted over here, Not a big fan of dootalk after they locked my thread over other idiots garbage.Hey Dan. Keep an eye out for a 300hp 900 ace to be ready before snow flies...
Im assuming a MUCH larger turbo, that baby one/attached complete with ex. manifold will be tough to get over 200hp is my guess...
Keep me posted...it should be a nice trail sled for sure.
Dan
