After the race on Sunday I stayed at a guy’s house. In the morning I woke up and his brother was there XC, he just so happened to be a Yamaha tech; also he use to ride Snox and XC. He told me that there is nothing wrong with the phazers front suspension and to leave it alone. He said the problem with the tippyness and handling prom you guys experience (I don’t, but I don’t ride trail) can be corrected. He said to replace the FRONT rear shock spring with an 80 rate from a poliars edge. He also said running 87 instead of 91 would give move top end. I asked for the dyno sheet and he is sending them to me.
Anyone want to try 87?
Since I don’t have very much money like most of you, anyone want to try the 80 spring? I was told that this would be a great spring for both XC and Snox.
I would like to know before my next XC race which is the Red Lake 200w/ 7 challenge and my Snox race.

I'll agree with the 87 Octane part. As long as your not experiencing detonation 87 OCTANE will make more power. Will you be able to feel a difference, no. Will a Dyno be able to tell a difference, possibly. Octane is the ability of a fuel to resist detonation. For the best performance you want to be right on the edge of detonation and 87 may or may not put you on that edge. Of course if you have a way of changing the Timing and or Fuel then 91 would be the better choice. I'd try 87 If I were you and see if it trips your Knock Sensor light. you could always slowly work your way down with 89 first. Another thing that may work to your advantage is E10 Gas as I've noticed that on most dyno charts that a stock phazer runs in the 11.5:1 Air/Fuel range, that's too rich. E10 will put you closer to more ideal Air/fuel since Ethanol likes a richer mixture.

One of the regulars here does run Polaris center spring.Cant remember who.Thats said I think the tech is way off base if he thinks the center spring is going to cure handling issues.I have run many different springs, shocks and setups and center shock doesnt do much.I think he probably worded it more like it "may help a little."Pretty much I just am used to the handling and although I continue to make changes it is just the way it is.

I was not completly beleaving him, of course thou I just woke up to at the time. I was just wounderin. Hew said the in cornering it would be alot less tippy. I think if the rails could be tipped up, like that of the sno pros it could handle better.
