I have ordered a rear exchanger from my dealer. I was wondering how much time it would take him to install it. I am changing my oil, installing a skid plate, and the exchanger. I was wondering the cost of labour I should expect. Installed in Canada. Waiting to go for my first ride. Thanks :rocks:

Do a search under "ROCKERDAN" he posted his installation with pictures last year. Pretty easy installation if your handy.

I purchased my exchanger form Port Yamaha ($40?) can't remember the exact price but pretty cheap. Shouldn't take a dealer more than a hour or two to install.

I agree. The install is not rocket science. Please beware that you have to cut the tunnel as part of the install process so a dremmel tool minimum will be needed if you intend not to do a hatchet job.

You don't need a dremmel tool to cut the aluminum tunnel. All I used was a broken hack saw blade, pretty easy to cut the aluminum. If you have the dremmel then great, but you can by with a good old hack saw blade.
PS: once you cut the tunnel for the heat exchanger, fold the aluminum tab back, install exch., fold aluminum tab back and put some RT sealant on the cut line.

Higland Yamaha quoted me $300 this was parts and labor. How much is the parts?

radta7's Attak rear heat exchanger is larger and a few more rivets than a 121 inch. I believe the part number 8EP- RHECR-KT-00 is about 80 to 100 dollars in the US depending where you buy.

Aaron,

Her sled doesn't overheat. But I understood what you intended...

Is that the labor for all three items you mentioned, or just the heat exchanger? If you don't have a garage and it's minus 20 degrees out, it's probably sounding like a pretty good deal right about now.
