i am considering doing my own rear mount turbo, i can fabricate thats no dig deal i dont have 4500 to spend, i have a 06 apex i have found a ton of turbos for sale and specific one i should be looking for? i dont want to get into the motor for the head shim, i was told i could run 8 to 10lbs of boost, safe, will the oil pump in the engine feed the rear mount turbo without running an auxilery pump? that is my main consern the rest i can kinda work with, i know they make self contained but i cant spend a 1000 on just the turbo, or if anybody has a used one i would be interested, i appreciate the info and thanks my email is onelowsonoma2@yahoo.com

The feeding of oil to the turbo is not a problem, you may need a restrictor not to get too high oil pressure back at the turo.
You will need an oil return pump. The returning of oil back to the engine requires a return pump up at the engine to suck the oil back from the turbo, else you will smoke badly, oil will be pushed thru the seals in the turbo and out to the exhaust side.

Rear mount turbo
I am building a rear mount turbo set-up, also. Where does a person find this pump for the return line and is there a pump that can be installed close to the turbo to push oil back to the motor/oil res. instead of sucking from the front? thanks

i have seen lots of reputable builders use the facet fuel pumps from napa/carquest in them.. i think they are $40? low psi.. higher flow. enough to move oil away.
