I am think about extending my rtx apex out to 136 at least what would be the best answer extensions or just puttinf differant rails under it and will my current suspension (I have the pro action not the mono)work with a 136 extension or do i need to change the whole thing?

Extensions will work just fine. Rails would look cleaner but thats about it.
Check out Bruce at CB preformance. I do belive he has em.

Contact the Muffinworks guys and have them make you a custom set of rails for the Proactive Skid and tell them that you want them "beefy"!! I am one of those that just used the rail extensions on this skid and to be honest these OEM rails just aren't strong enough for extensions. After 500 miles on my set the rails where already bent and I know at least one other guy on here that has also bent his rails this year so far. Trust me if you only want to do this once than have rails made!!! Go to www.muffinworksltd.com and check out there "custom work" page and you will see that they have made these exact rails before. The weak spot where I bent mine is right at the rubber bumper. Thats my 2 cents!! learn from my mistake!! :o| :o| :o|

I just did this swap on my 06 RTX, I used a tracks USA extention kit, put a 136 Cobra track and built my own tunnel ext. I would strongly suggest using the tracks USA kit, it does cost a little more but the quality is well worth it, if the mounting bolts were stainless you wouldn't know it was there, they are machined to fit into the factory slot for the axle and even gives you slider extention, most kits run sliderless the last 8 inches. Building the tunnel is the time consuming part, but can be done in about a day with basic tools . It makes a big dufferencs in the sled and I know I will never have a 121 sled again. JMO

Fellas we are not comparing the same rails here!!! I will say that the Mono rails are much stronger than the ProActive rails found on the RTX and the early Nytros. These ProActive rails are just too weak for added length.

I have MPI extensions on my 03 RX1 121 to a 136 and set back to fit the 144" track.
I have jumped it tail walked and landed countless times. Still have the ole Pro Action in her. got around 2000 miles of hard boonin on them.
I suggested Bruce at CB Preformace because you are in N. Illinois so is he. Great guy to work with and builds great stuff.

Sure you can go with rails. At 1/3 the cost of a new aftermarket rear suspension why. Save the $$ and get a real suspension. Whilesaving run with extensions.

We also manufacture rail extensions. Couple that with one of our tunnel extensions and we give 10% off as a package deal. We have an excellent track record. And if you do a search you will see many have been very pleased with our products.

Email me, or check out our website for more information.
