Rear suspension setup

Hey Yamadog I think it's a fox zero pro. Same shock I have on mine.

Great your sure its the same length????

And your sled is at your house and your not - right???

I'm not sure it's the same length, but I would think it was. And yes I'm away from my sled. Yours might be a tiny bit longer. Not sure on that. Sorry

Ive spent last few season s on a procross. The 141 skid is 3" pitch track and uncoupled. It hooks HARD but will never give you the cushy trail ride of the coupled 137 or any slide action arctic cat rear skid. My 141 had too much transfer from factory, just shorten limiters one hole and back preload off on front track shock till it has almost no tension. This helps a lot in stutters. Revalves will help too. Allot of guys are running Hygears linkage which makes rear shock more progressive but your going to need to ditch the rear float on the skid to get best ride. On my sled I went with zbroz rear track shock and its pretty decent but still not the ride of my me buddys stock arctic cat slide action skid. It rides pretty decent but just doesn't have the range of the fully coupled skid to hande all sizes of bumps. Like I said the 141 is amazing off trail but if your a trail rider go with the 137.

Heres a link to linkage kit, it explains more. IMHO don't waste any more money on canister for rear float, just get a 220.00 shock from a LXR( 2704-173 )and go that route

I am intereseted in this setup are you sure that shock will work? I just called the local store that caries both Yami and cat and they could not tell me if this is possible.

I do not have a Yamaha 141 to measure but im 99.9 percent sure its same exact skid as my XF1100, hygear will know for sure.

just got my shocks back from Deycore with re-valve and installed back on skid tonight. Will report next weekend as that will be next ride. He said they were set pretty hard from factory and should help out a lot. We'll see???

just got back from a long day on trails yesterday. The shock re-valve with blocks out and center loosened up worked very well. Skis up nicely over approaches and nice weight transfer-gives led more personality. Need a bit more bite in corners so think I am going to pull limiters down 1 hole and try. Front shocks are at 65 and very plush so hate to stiffen too much.

what blocks is every one talking about then they keep saying they "pulled the blocks"?

Yamadog be careful about that Hygear linkage setup. It did work great on the 13 cats but the geometry of the 141 was changed by cat and I assume our viper 141's for 14. Nobody knows if that setup works yet because of that. I think you will end up to soft.

What geometry was changed? I just looked up part numbers of front arm, rear arm and linkage and the 2014 141skid parts all have same part number as 2012 141skid.

Just to clarify for everyone the 137" suspension is totally different then the 141 and the 137 is new for 2014 . The 137 uses a 2.86 pitch while a 141 uses 3 in pitch track.

I dont know but I read that it was somewhere. Also look at the prototype testrides almost everyone thought the 141" rode the best. Far different from what the cat guys were saying about the 12's and 13's. Just saying ask questions of Hygear linkage.

I went this weekend and the trails were really nice. There where a couple of trails that were really bumpy, and my set up was awesome. A tiny bit rough but, I like that plus it takes jumps really good. So I'm going to leave it. 95 psi in floats and almost as stiff as I can get it in the rear.

Wow Tim I'm in shock! I don't know what your definition of bumpy trails is, but I would not ride my ltx on our bumpy trails with your settings if someone paid me too. Im not starting war here but really surprised that you like it at those settings. I got mine as soft as possible, and we ride our sleds hard and I mean it, and in some situations it just rides like a brick! I always like my sleds as soft and as plush as possible without bottoming, and so far stock viper shocks did not provide those qualities. But that's all going to change after I install my beloved AXIS, and it will ride like it should have been from the factory!
