The rear suspension shock mount broke on my brothers FX. It was the bracket that holds the bottom of the rear shock to the side frame. He has around 700 miles on it. He didnt hit anything hard at all, just normal riding conditions. He took it to the dealer today. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem.

I have been riding mine on some pretty rough trails (need some fresh snow to groom) up by Virginia and Ely in Minnesota. I have 450 miles on it and I haven't had any of the problems that you are telling us. I did bend the tunnel back in December, but that was my own dumb fault, not Yamaha. Don't bash the Phazer just because you don't own one. Pretty much everybody on this site is satisfied with theirs including myself. Thank you and please quit posting bogus stuff.
Aaron.

Did his dealer grease the skid?

I got a few feet of air with mine, on numerous occasions, i even hit some rocks pretty hard due to low snow...

didn't break nothing.

I have noticed that the front shock in the rear suspension sits real low. I have went over a few rocks and it fells like there hitting something solid in there. but nothing is broke it just worries me.

I broke the front shock mount in mine, never hit anything other then snow, no rocks or anything. Tell him to keep on the dealer about it because they tried to tell me I hit something so it wouldn't be warranty. In the end it was covered though. :jump:

Guys - had the same problem as NorthMinn on my wife's FX. The clicker shock lower mounting bracket broke. Stranded us on the trail in the U.P. over the weekend of Jan 20th. Not fun having to tow a new sled with less than 500 miles. Dealer and Yamaha got it fixed in 2 days and back on the trail. I was hoping not to have this kind of issue with a new sled, but I guess that can happen with a first year machine. Hopefully no other "bugs" surface on this sled. Nothing worse than doubting the reliability of your machine, especially when your wife is the primary rider...
