ok. i found this tip watching yellowknife ride videos and others have mentioned it as well. everyone's 1st instinct on -30 cold starts is to let go of the key as soon as it fires. this is wrong. you need to stay on the key until it fires at least 2 other cylinders before letting go with no throttle. the efi sleds will re prime every time the starter is cycled (or seems to) and this is what floods the sled out. at -40 when i go riding, i prime the fuel system 2x before i try to start it if it has less than 1/2 tank of gas. under 1/4 tank of gas, don't even try when it is that cold out as it will not pressurize/prime properly and you will just kill the battery trying to start it.
