I got mine back from the machine shop. I told him to take 1.5mm from the steps of both aluminum collars AND another 1.5mm off each end of the Idler Arm Tube . to make sure the whells were centered
The problem, I didnt think of once you take it off the Idler arm tube the collers total lenth become 1.5 mm short. Now I am not sure what I am going to do any ideas? spacers? it would have been better to take it off the idler tube and leave the coller alone , it would have been 1.5mm short in the bearing , but total lenth would have been right

I'm not all that familiar with the Vector setup but the 6205 bearings are 3mm wider than the 6005 bearings.
If your saying you took 1.5mm off each area that pushes up against the side of the bearing it sounds like you did it right.

That was what I was thinking,But when you take it off the pivet arm a total of 3mm .and you slide it together it leaves the ends short 1.5mm on each end.I am going to have him make me new blocks for the 15mm bearnings. I sure wish Yamaha would have done this in the first place.

Sure you're looking at the right wheels freak? The ;05 idlers were all plastic and you're lucky to get 1000 miles out of them.

Well maybe there not rubber but I checked the bearings for movement and that seemed fine. I had gloves on and spun them and I didn't noticed anything out of the ordinary like chips or pieces missing out of them. What am I looking for??? Now I'm curious heading out to the sled with a flashlight.

Okay I just inspected every wheel on the skid. Yes they are all plastic but in good shape. No noticeable wear whatsoever. No studs either though! When it melts down all the way I'll take a digital pic and post it.

Yeah, the bearings are fine in mine, but the forward pair on the inside of the rails are wasted. They are warped and the outer edge (contact surface) has a nasty wear pattern where portions of the wheel no longer contact the track. My track is studded though and I imagine that accellerates the wear of the hard plastic.

I thought the outside ones looked good because they were not warped and bearing was good , but after a closer look they are smaller that they supposed to be , so there is not help saving the hy fax . I will be changing everthing over to better wheels, I dont like the down time

When you use the 6205 (SMA-8EK38-01-RD )wheels on the outside with the longer bolts do you have to machine anything ? if you bolt them on they will be running 1.5 mm farther out that the stock.

No machining necessary. Your 1.5mm offest statemetn is correct but poses no problems.
The combination that I went with and posted pictures of earlier in this message thread has worked perfectly with NO damage to the wheels or track. I run studs, too.
