I have done some searching but I would like to know what everyone's current opinions are for replacing the ripsaw. I am open to 1" or 1.25" tracks. I do not like the ripsaw because of durability. I am going to run a minimum of 144 probably 168 studs as larger as possible, eg I am running 1.450 now. I am not sure if I will stud the outside of the track yet. I ride mostly groomed trails, I occasionally run farm fields when I ride at home. I don't boon dock and don't really care for powder riding. I am leaning towards the 1.25" because I like how it hooks in the loose snow while coming out of the corners in the trail. The 1.25" also is nice when I ride loose snow or powder. What track is the most durable and doesn't throw studs like the pos jipsaw? I have never had a track lose so many studs before. If I didn't include anything that would make the decision easier to make let me know I will add it. :4STroke:

Thanks,

PH

I put on the 1" hacksaw. we have some loose snow right now and my buds GT(ripsaw) walks away from me on the loose packed trail & powder. ripsaw is a good all-around performance track, but just didn't last for me when studded.
I also had the 1.25 preditor (9818 I think) on my SRX. was a decent track but I had torn lugs the first yr.

Anybody know what 1.25" track came on the 03.5 Ski-doo Blair Morgan Rev X? I had one that track and it is in near prefect condition with close to 4K miles. I would really like to replace the ripsaw with this. That track looks simliar or almost the same as the track on my buds 05 f7, I realize the F7 is 1 3/8".

I have two SRX's - one with a ripsaw and the other with a six pitch (predator) - I like the six pitch a bit better than the ripsaw - it has a bit more bite IMO and it seems a little more rigid - my 2 cents!!

I boufght the new Cobra track. It weighed 2 lbs less than the ripsaw and looks impressive. I have pictures posted on another thread in here. I will take a picture of it tonight as it is now installed. Quite a few people love this track so far this season. The 08 snoPro's come with it and say the hook up/traction is incredible. I'll find out more next week as I am heading to Munising after X-Mas.

I had a ripsaw with 144 in it and after I had numerous stud issues last season, I went with the new Ice Ripper 1.25 lug, I rode 180 miles yesterday and I am impressed with it. It has built-in ice picks that work well. If you are a person who needs the holeshot on hardpack this track may not be as good as one studed with 144 picks because standard studs penetrate more than the picks in this track. I'll know more as the season progresses and there is more ice. This style track is based on the ripsaw but the lugs look much more ridged and to me they look like they'll move more snow. So far this track works better than the Ripsaw unstudded in loose snow.

Here's the cobra on mine...
