reverse engagement

just bought (2) 2007 phazer gt's. The one would engage into reverse immediatly after pushing the reverse button. the other you would have to move the sled back and forth. so we adjusted the chaincase to stock spec on both. now neither of them engage immediatly. is this the way reverse works on all phazers or is it just one of the 2007 problems?
