Reverse grabs snowflap

Mine does it also .But my sled doesn't back up .it takes like full thottle to make it move.If you hit the throttle hard it makes a load noise and the drive belt in the big pulley opens up and pulls the belt in the pulley. Then I have to pull the cover offand pull the belt out.
Are you saying your reverse does not work properly?? If it does not perform the way it should and you have not returned it to be fixed at a dealer than maybe you need to do this first and formost, than worrie about the flap, but i just cut a few inches off my flap like someone said,it works just as good and costs nothing..
Seems to goes into reverse but doesn't seem right

I just cut off about 3 inches of my snowflap this morning.

I CUT MINE ALSO, I had the same problem on my 04 Warrior and you can go out and waste your money and time buying the rivets and the shorter flap, getting your drill and rivet gun out! Or be smart and CUT THE DAMN THING! :o| 8) ;)!

If you're backing over your flap, your suspension isn't set up for your weight. There's no way it should get caught unless you back into deep snow. My flap is 5 3/4" off the ground with me on the sled, set up correctly with 40mm of sit-in measured at the shock.

I have run over flaps on my rx-1 and then my vector. I installed this for 5.99 and I have not run it over since.

I installed one of those W things. Didn't work very well. Pry open the wallet and buy a shorter flap. Also looks much better.

Whatever you do, do it before the rear of the tunnel starts bending. These flaps are tough when you back over them with a studded track. It has nothing to do with proper suspension setup. You will back over it if you use a tilt bed trailer, or use reverse when it's snowy out. (And when else would you be sledding?)

I bought a smooth SX style 12" flap and I think it looks much better. Check the link over to the other classifieds.

He said whenever he backs up, not when he backs off his trailer. I stand by my statement. Your flap is too close to the ground on your GT because you've got too much sit-in.

Some us of prefer the look of the shorter flap, not a hacked off flap.....

It's only hacked off if your a hacker! But if you take a straight edge and some small clamps and a sharp utility knife, you make sure the rubber is warmed up (I did mine in the summer) you can heat it up with a hair dryer! And then on the sides you clamp on your straight edge and follow the contour of the original cut and it will look like this on the bottom:

Yeah Baby! Looking Good! You can never tell, because I'm not a hacker and neither are any of you! So have confidence and save a lot of money and time! ;)!

Bob, I'll go take a picture of mine and you take a picture of yours and let the others decide which looks better. I'll be right back.

Those things are nothing but Ice collectors. I had one, it would build up so much Ice that the flap was sticking straight out. It also added about 50 pounds to the back of the sled.

This happened on my last two yamis, I cut off the flap on the last one but I added two straps to my 06 Attak to prevent it from getting sucked under. Went from the bumper to the middle of the flap but didn't pull the flap up as it is important to keep the flap in place and as long as possible to get the best cooling for the sled. The flap keeps the snow inside the tunnel to cool the sled especially in marginal snow conditions.
