has anyone had problems with there reverse, when i put it in reverse and hit the throttle it goes backwards for a second and then makes a clunking noise and snaps back into forward, is there an adjustment?

No prob. post back up and let us know how it goes.

I would say 2 dozen or so people have had this.

It is supposed to be on the dealer checklist to adjust before it is delivered.

Those adjustments have to be right on the money and when you are done, make sure the nuts on the rods are tight.

thanks tork it worked, took alittle bit to adjust, i don't understand what happened it was fine last year, i got done the other day changing the oil & filter and the chaincase oil then i started on the stand and put into forward and then reverse when it started to go in reverse it just popped back into forward, can't understand it

sometimes it ends up tooth to tooth and wont engage, just got to blip the gas and try again in a new position so the gears can mesh. That could make it pop out or make the grinding noise. Prolly the adjustment was marginal from the begining, and you adjusted it to specs now :flag:

Revrse Popping out here to!

Does drive chain tension have ANYTHING to do with the reverse system on the sleds?

I had the dealer adjust the reverse linkage last year when the sled only had a few hundred miles on it-had worked fine since.

I had adjusted the drive chain tension a while after that. All was fine for 1600+ miles.

Yesterday, went to put it into reverse on different occasions and either it would pop out, or if I moved the sled some it would go in and back up, but a few times it made some grinding noises while backing.

I'll have to check the linkage adjustments, but are these reverse systems that touchy??

Update: checked the horizontal linkage measurement-right on at 27mm, so I adjusted the free play (which there was some) out of the vertical adjusting rod, then, backed it off 1/4 turn and it worked great-at least with the sled on the trailer, rear of sled raised to allow the track to rotate freely.
