Ride Blue.... are you saying everything else being equal that the Bender Team Secondary is NOT a good choice???? I have been considering one after hearing some good reports about Team Secondaries in general and was told that the Bender set up from team was an excellent set up. I have the Bender clutch kit (jury is still out on that choice) So I was considering trying thier secondary set up. I posted a while ago inquiring about this and didn't get very many responses, those that I did were fairly positive. I may have to look a little harder at this before I invest another $300 +. I would be interested in your experiences with this and whether there could have been any other factors leading to the "failure" of this secondary in comparison to stock. I need to do something fairly quick since I got dusted (at all speeds) buy a friends newly clutched ZR800 that I handled easily last year. The only other difference was he had a brand new track and picks.I also
got to test a Team secondary that I got from bender and just to let
you all know I have my stock secondary back on with bender helix
and spring as it crushed the Team. Stock secondary setup 96 in
1000 ft, Team 90 in 1000 ft. Top end seemed to be the same but
no comparison in acceleration.

heel clickers
I have a 2003 rx1. I ordered the bender clutch kit with heel clickers and helix. I was having problems with my speeds. I checked the clutch weights and they were not all the same (arms only nothing else). The weights were 50.6, 50.8 and 51.1 on the arms. I ground down the bottom tab right in front of the bolt that holds it in the clutch. I was told to take the weight off there from the manufacturer. they all weigh 50.6. I went with tip weight and shoulder weight only, I called heel clicker for advise, that is what they suggest. there phone number is 810-694-5493. there web site is supertorquer.com (I think). My sled runs great and the speedo hits in the 130's with no secondary work. my buddy has the same set up and his runs the same.

The team secondary in it intended use can't be beat at least according to all the Snow cross teams.
Just because it didn't work out on the lake doesn't mean it is a POS. could be the cam angle or spring tension was wrong for the conditions, when you hit on a good combination it is hard to just swap to a different secondary design and condem it without testing all the different cam and spring combinations.
The Team secondary is intended for aggressive trail or snow cross use not lake racing.

I agree with you Ted, I am more so condemning Bender and all of
their infinite wisdom which I am beginning to doubt. The Team that
they sent me was supposed to be set up properly for my sled, which
it obviously was not. You would think by now they would know what
works and what does not with the RX1. I will be calling them today
to see what they have to say. They told me when I ordered it that
it would be faster than what I had and it certainly was not.

RB... I would be very interested in the reults in your conversation with Bender.. I am starting to get the same feeling with them. When I clutched my SRX it actually got slower not quicker with Bender. Dealer claimed weak spring/bad parts and changed out. Now with my RX I don't feel that it is much better than stock. Last year I could beat my buddies RX but I attribute that to a bad pick pattern giving him less hookup. Now this year my sled seems to be losing a little. He now can pull on me in the midrange. I know this can be all in the set up and install and unfortunetly I don't do that stuff myself and need to depend on the dealer. Please let me know how you make out. I need to get this thing moving again. I don't want to blame it all on Bender since dealer is part of the equation but I have been considering moving to the Supertune Kit. I hear a lot more about that setup on hear than any of the other.

Hi RB i did not get my team from bender, but got mine from goodwins, but they tried to sell me there standard set up that yammi suggested to them, now thats most likly what bender was told to,i dought they have tested much, now i have not either, just got our spring tool,so we can change out springs, now i need some springs to test i am using 54/36 54/34 w black/green spring it pulls right to 10,500 and holds, heck it even pulls stock weights to 10,100 and climbs to 10,300 on ice.

Beast, I can tell you this about goodwin, my buddy brought his viper there three times an the clutching was never right. It kept overreving. Olav AAen's shop was the next step and he got it right the first time. goodwin is mainly a snowcross shop. They work on lots of ski doos, polaris and arctic cats, but very few yamahas.
