how the ride on these base models on trails. I be mostly trail ridding . I got a chance to get a great deal on 2014 base model left over.
I am heavy rider 250lbs

I know most guys where spending extra for better shocks

But i like the tall windshield and heated seat

Fyi im 200lbs without gear and its too stiff for me even with it set on soft. Im coming off a attak that rode like a couch, but that was the mono shock, There is no sag so I ordered a set of softer 1704-354/355 springs and try that.

Wow maybe they are different one I rode last year was very plush and bottomed if ridden hard. I wonder if something is wrong with your shock or shock? Maybe what you are seeing as stiff is actually it bottoming?

I was wondering the same thing that it might be the shocks because all I have herd about this DX is that it has the plushest ride but I am not feeling that at all. I feel every bump. That's why I didn't go with the fox shock models. And not having any sag when I sit on it is telling me that the torsion spring is to stiff? When the season is done I will pull the skid and check the shock and send to get revalved Not sure what else to do.

They will figure it out. The sag thing is by design. I have learned to live with it. A good revalve will help that also. Maybe they have water/ice in them. All the sleds going back to Fox for 16's is a reason for that. Our 14 and 15 shocks are not as good as Fox.

Ya, I just don't understand how some DX can ride (plush) and others like mine ride like a lumber wagon. I guess I just have to start eating double cheesburgers and a few extra brews and add on some pounds. I will get it to ride like I want with the revalve I am sure. That being said I wish I went with the foxes but? Oh well, Thanks for the help.

I put those springs in my sled and had the shocks re-valved, major improvement! Good luck changing the springs, big pain in the butt removing the idler wheels on the upper shaft...

Ive got a 2014 LTX 137. Nothing special about it, nothing added or upgraded. Couldn't be happier with the standard shocks. I did soften them up quite a bit and removed the rear scissor stop blocks (if that's what they call them on this).

165 soaking wet

its crazy how they can be different. do you have the fox shocks or coils? DX? LE? SE?

Any tips on getting those wheels off ?

I used an air hammer on the inner race of the bearing. As Cannondale said you can clean up the shaft with a file. I also sanded off most of the powder coating from the ends of the shaft so I could get the wheels back on again!

Just the normal LTX 137. Looks just like yours. Tall windshield, heated seat, standard shocks.

Gotta be something hosed up with yours from the factory prep. Shock in the wrong mounting position? Doubt it but who knows.

I have a 2015 Rtx Dx and have put about 1200 miles on it.What I found is the way it came from the factory it wouldn't turn and rode stiff. You have to get some of the previous load off of the center shock .I have my limit straps in the 3rd hole from the end of the straps , Loosen up the spring till you can spin it free then put three turns of pre load back on the spring.Get your self a good pair of 6 " carbides. Also adjust the coupler blocks to the number 2 position and go for a ride. You may want to put a little more pre load back on that spring but do it one turn at a time and go ride it for the day.You can't expect a sled to ride perfect with out adjusting it to your weight. That's why they make all of those components adjustable. You have to keep tinkering to find the sweet spot and that changes with trail conditions. Hopefully this helps you.I love mine and the more miles the softer it has gotten. I weigh about 230 lbs.
