Ride Report on Curve XS with Vendor Input

Colors? Not sure..that's the sled in my avatar (with my son on..he rides a blue vector). I'm thinking at least red hoops....

I know they will be...several are riding my old sleds I sold them..a couple of RX-1's and a Machz triple come to mind, and the RX's need skis..we were debating this last winter, but I didn't want the precision's. I'm getting older and need some new tech to stay ahead of the young pups..I know it won't last, but I can still compete...just need something more predictable. The dooleys give me some push, but you always lose some bite with those things. If they (curves) can get me a few more mph in some conditions without winding up under the sled (no comment) I'll be happy.. :flag:

Sump,
You will be amazed with these ski's - The young pups have a hell of a time keeping up with this old dawg (51 yrs young).

The hot set-up on these babies seems to be a shaper bar carbide.

As far as color goes, and if I were to do it all over again - I think I would go for the black and accent my sled with the loops. That way no matter what sled I have at the time my Curves will always be with me!

Outstanding product, Outstanding people!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I like to hear, 06vec...I've got a few on you, but last winter a 20 something motocross racer went riding with us on Tug on a typical tug day..he was on an MXZ..he did not go anymore..always had a 'reason'. But he'd ride around home with others. Hmmmm. They didn't think pigs (apex's) could fly..LOL. In all fairness, he never rode that long on conditions like that, but he gained respect for us die hard 'bilers as to what we have to deal with to get a decent 200 mile day in upstate NY.
I'm hoping these skis give me back a few years. It's sounds like they will. I'm running box stock Yamma skis with dooleys, so I'm hoping for a big improvement!

I have to agree with 06vectorgt 100% and share his enthusiasm.

I wish I had known about the Curves before I started my run last winter.

I would have been much less fatigued at the end of the day.

They make the sled handle so much easier and best of all; I am in total control and not the sled.

The ski holds lines better than anything I have used in the past.

I'm a 55 year old "touring bubba" that won't leave home without a set of Curves on my sled.

I plan on gaining a bunch of years this season.

Sump, you won't believe the improvement you will experience as compared to stock skis with doolies! ;)!

Bob and Lou, thank you very much for the great words and underpinning of our product. Nick and I are proud to have you guys behind us! Both of you represent the type of customers we want. That's educated, passionate, and diehard for the sport and what it has to offer. Admittedly, it's not always about how fast you get from point to point or who you roasted back in the woods, but the experiences and sights in between that, which really count. Although, Nick and I are exalted that our skis allow you more control in those point to point rides as well!

Charlie, I've put together a clump of pictures to help you decide what colors you like best. If you have something else in mind, let me know and I'll render them on your sled.

Sean
Thanks for the pics. I'm sitting here at work (multitasking, of course) with Barnstormer, of this forum, and he's about 70% convinced, so maybe another sale. He's currently on an 07 phazer fx.
The bottom of your ski is very impressive.

Hondo, thanks for the input. I've been reading and looking for a few years, as I'm usually the one in this area that trys the new stuff, so I'm skeptical and don't like the harrassment I get from the crew if I go backwards in a sled adjustment.
One look and these hit all the right switches in my somewhat feeble mind..LOL.

This must be near your shop, as I think it was Sangerfield? Can't remember. We did 219 miles from home, and ate at the Solsville Hotel. Nice little ride for a Saturday, on club trails, but nothing like Hondo's overachievements. :jump: Probably could've done another 200 with the new skis!

Glad to help SumpBuster,

I too am always skeptical about new products.

Curve Industries IMO hit the ball out of the park when they designed this ski.

I look at it as a "no brainer". That's why it's easy for me to talk about it, since I have a set and know the capabilities of this ski.

I also know it's hard at times to convince others.

IMO this will be one of the best aftermarket investments anyone could make in the sport of snowmobiling.

The overall stability and control these skis provide the rider is extraordinary!

If Barnstormer doesn't buy a set now, when the snow flys and he sees the handling improvements of your sled, that will seal the deal for sure.

The crew will quickly realize which way you went with your sled adjustment. I am that confident.

Hope you like to lead alot?

Enjoy! ;)! ;)! ;)!

WHAT HE SAID!

LOL!!
Great stuff.
Yes, I've led for the past 35 years, and am gradually giving it off to the younger guys. It's amazing how much fun it can be to follow and harass the leader! I'll know the first ride, when I run inside of the leader on some of our well known corners, set him up for a pass, and then smile and relinquish the position, with one hand on the bars, waving to him, because of the curves..LOL

Sean - Notice my AVATAR change sporting a set of those "FANCY' skis.

Thanks again Tom (Mr Sled) for the re-sizing assistance.

Lou, you are all over it! That red is a nice match for the darker red that Yamaha uses. Our red loops are a bit brighter though.

You gents are on a roll with this thread! Don't mind me... I'm just going to wait for another ski on sled color scheme request.

NEWS OF THE DAY... We are in the premier issue of Snow Goer this year and apparently in parts of the US it has already hit the stands. Nick and I have yet to see the review so if any of you get a hold of it, let us know what it says!

Just got my issue! Page 66

"Its surprising how a set of skis can dramatically affect how well a snowmobiles handles. Without a doubt, the black and blue Curves XS skis we tested last season calmed down the front end of our Yamaha FX Nytro er. We were able to ride the machine with more confidence and as a result the machine was more fun"

blah, blah, blah - great skis etc, etc...........

Way to go Nick & Sean!

Congrats Sean and Nick,

I too look forward to reading the Snow Goer article on Curves. I wish you all the best and continued success.

"We were able to ride the machine with more confidence and as a result the machine was more fun."

The above magazine quote from 06vectorgt's post speaks volumes. It's true, the confidence and level of control increases not just a little bit, but significantly. This fundamental feature of this ski makes snowmobiling much more fun! I like and want to be in total control. Your ski enables me to do this.

You both deserve all the awards and rewards for bringing such an innovative aftermarket ski to the sport of snowmobiling! ;)!
