Ringer boost at weenie roast lakewoods

This thread is getting funny! Stock a pretty much everyone out in that video is not stock! Very funny to say that though

I have heard of boost sled burning pistons from another member riding with one in your area about a month ago....

Nope.
Clutchs are Yamaha. Nytro primary and sidewinder secondary.
Exhaust is aftermarket.
Only bolt on items outside of engine and tunes.
I dont do drag racing events and don't claim to be king chit.
I like to ride and enjoy my sleds.

Well you asked
The sled has a head mod
Has a tune
Has studs
Has different primary and secondary spring along with weights and a helix
That’s all and yes I am putting a big turbo on it next year
Stock exhaust
Stock turbo
840 still and that’s changing too
I didn’t claim anything just showing race results

If you hold one wide open for miles it’ll blow up
They deto stock and that’s the reason we did head mods
This is not a sled for everyone

I’m curious how these threads would be if the boost was a sled length behind?
Some people bleed blue, others don’t… not sure why everyone gets all hot and bothered about other brands being competitive?
Ultimately, a well set up 998 with a tune and race gas “should” be out in front!
If it isn’t then I’d have to question the person setting it up!
Great job on getting your boost to rock! Can only imagine how well set up your 998 is!

Come back when you have over 13,000 miles on it tuned and tell us how good your stock engine is holding up.

I’ll never have a sled that long
I don’t care about that
998s made it few hundred miles before knock protection in 17 and they blew
Same as guys on boost that didn’t know when to let off throttle
I didn’t say it was going to last like a 4 stroke
I said it’s fast and provided videos

998s are fast we have had but the 1100s were really fast
All the tunes on the 998 have come a long way since 17 and maybe they’ll find some more with the competition here now
It’s good for us all
I’m excited about my sons catalyst
I think it may be best chassis on snow

Hope

If it’s not a Yamaha, don’t talk about it lol!
Have you had your 998 on the draggy?
What’s done to it?

Stage four pefi currently
It’s sold but I have to still tune it
I’ve had hurricane and TD also
Honestly they’re all good and all can be made to run strong
All good products and it has been awesome that they put so much time and dedication into this sled.
The 300-325 hp
Really really good runners were close to my last tune on the boost at weenie roast
Low low 6 660 on snow
It got a few psi added to the newest tune and I think we may be higher than the dyno runs after this
Should be interesting!! Lol

testing Monday
It’s turned up and with fuel it should make 3 percent more hp minimum with that alone
Got to monitor that and see if it leans out too much now
It is the end of the season so it can be pushed harder than it has been;)!

Awesome stuff!!!! Wow Boost did not take long, great work!!
Wow need to update my signature lmao

I don't want to hi Jack this thread but, since the OP hasn't been on here in a while, I thought what the heck.
So I've had an opportunity to get some seat time on my new 23 Boost VR129.
This past weekend I was riding with my former work boss who has a 2017 Winder 137. I don't know all of the details of his sled but, he said he was running a 270hp tune along with Tapp clutches. And studded track. Don't know how many studs.

My Boost is bone stock with 150 miles and without studs.

First race, he destroyed me off the line. Wasn't even close. He launched, I spun.
Next race from about 40 mph roll was MUCH closer. He was pulling me, but not by a 85hp difference. More like a 15-20 hp difference.
All I know is when I add a clutch kit and some other items (tune) it will likely be a different story.
I should also mention that I weigh about 50lbs more than him, so that should be factored in.
There was 2 other winders in the group that I did not race. One of them being a 23 SRX. My boss said I was his closest race (from a roll on) all weekend.

Ask him what tune he has.

Thats pretty impressive a stock boost that is not studded with a heavy rider is running right around 255 horsepower range with no clutching and no tune… Or the sidewinder that is supposed to be 270 horsepower is no where near that actual number.. Which is it ? If you spend enough time and money their is no doubt you will win some races with that Boost.. Do keep us informed on your progress as it is interesting hearing these outcomes.

Well I certainly don't believe that the Boost is in the 250+ hp range. Most dyno reports have them around 185-190 which I find very believable.
I'll say that it does have legs in the upper speed ranges. I haven't had it into tripple digits yet, but it pulls extremely strong into the lower 90mph range, with no sign of running out of steam.
I would love to put this up against my 182hp 06 Apex. Provided I could get the Boost to hook up, that would be a good race.
With respect to Winder performance, it's always been my opinion that they don't seem to run quite as strong as their dyno numbers would seem to suggest.
A well tuned Apex can run in the upper 100 teens to low 120's. Winders seem to need much more power to run similar or greater speed numbers. Whether that's from an inefficient drive train or what? I don't know.
