As you can see, it is pulling pretty hard on the harness on the left that goes to the red shut off block...

Here is a close up of the bracket itself

you can see where the mount holes are in the riser...

Ya, pop that black headlight cover and reroute that kill switch cable. If brought down the one side, you will be fine to put your windshield bracket back on. Be careful pulling the headlight cover. It's only pressed on, but are prone to breaking. Do it when it is warm if possible.

Also, be sure to start the sled and rotate the handlebars to be sure you don't throw any TORS codes or the throttle revs the engine when turning. That's a nasty one to find once on the trail. Your cables look good other than that one. And it can be routed outside the windshield bracket if needed and still rotate fine.

Good luck!

Ok...plan to get this done tomorrow...hopefully I can get the cover off without breaking it...assume once that is done, the reroute will be self explanatory...

It's not as much of a re-route down there as it is just loosening it up and pulling the slack up to the top around the handlebars. As you can see on mine, the kill cable isn't tight, and comes right up the middle. I don't remember that one being as tight as the throttle.

It's worth doing and getting the windshield back on. Pray for some snow, it looks good this next week in your area!! WOO WOO!!!

No, go to the windshield page in the parts diagram. It's the black cover that surrounds the front side of the riser.

You want to grab it by the ring that surrounds the cables and just lift straight up. The front side near the actual headlight has two tabs that slide down in, so they will not lift. The backside near the cables are just pushed down in. There are rubber grometts that hold the plastic together. They will pull right out.

Guys that pull them apart when cold break them. But if you pull slow, they will pop right out.

Good luck!

I'd also suggest putting a little grease on the inside of the grommets/outside of the headlight cover posts so they will slide apart easier the next time you want to remove it. You may want to even carve a little material off the 'barb' of the headlight cover posts, depending on how snug the fit is.

That's what I did, after I broke the first one. :o|

OK...I was able to get it off...temp was up to 32 today, warm as it will get for the foreseeable future. I will get some grease on the grommets. They were REALLY tight...but nothing broke.

Got it all put back together. Started it up and checked for codes when in max turn. No issue! thanks to everyone here! The pics really helped...referred to them a lot. Greased the grommets, they went back together with ease.
