Well I'm into changing the stock boards on my Nytro to the Burandt Polaris boards. Since the taper is different, I wil probably add a bent piece of aluminum to make up the difference. Do you guys think a regular aluminum (11ga.) or angle would be better?

It looks great as is. good thinking a nice alternative to the skins boards

Thanks. I decided to change the drop brackets at the same time to save weight. Also, the angles didn't match up right. Pics to follow.

what about the weight difference?

I don't have the weight for any other boards. The RMK boards weight 3.5lb ea. It will probably be a wash between what I am taking off/adding. Aside from the lack of snow/ice accumulation!!
The stock drop brackets are heavy. I will be replacing with 6061-T6.

I decided to cut the old boards off completely and start fresh.

Had some time to finish the boards and drop brackets. I'm not the best fabricator, but it turned out nice. Wondering if anybody can tell me if the drop brackets need to be completely vertical? I added 3/8" spacers between the bracket and shaft to take up the old bracket thickness. My new bracket is 1/4" thk and the old had a backset in the center. Now the brackets are slanted out roughly 2deg. I traced the original holes to keep factory locations.

Be carefully putting a spacer on between shaft and drop brackets. It creates a week point. I put a 1/2 spacer in to make up the difference for my 16 wide track and custom boards and ended up snapping a bolt of while out riding. I ended up getting a new cross shaft machined up.

Thanks for the tip. I made sure the bolt I used is equivalent to grade 8.
Do you know if the drop bracket needs to be perfectly vertical?

I made my own drop brackets and they were on a angle. And I used the same grade bolt as well

I tried to stay the same width up front. They taper to about 7" at the rear. I added a piece of bent aluminum down the tunnel to take up the angle.
