First a big thank-you to Shawn and the staff at Preferred Powersports of Syracuse in New York. They were awesome. I really liked the sled. I did not notice the vibrations some people have mentioned. It was a GT and not the FX but it handle the bumps well, the suspension was abit soft for me but I would buy the FX. I like the power, not the snap of a 2 stroke but still good power for the size of the engine in my opinion. I found it to be a very fun sled to ride. I did notice some kick at times from the rear end but this is a pre-production sled and the I did not make any adjustments to the suspension for me. I really like it.

i'm sure the production sleds with efi and suspension modifications will be smooth and quick. can't wait to try it out.
Thanks
Not the snap ....
When you hit the gas - did the tach snap to 11000 - and the sled gained speed slow?
or
Or did the tach stay well below max rpm - when you "hit it" from mid range? Then slowly gain speed?

I rode a GT in Colebrooke NH, I loved the handling and weight, but it did not wind all that quick. I dont think I saw 10,000, but I was in a group of sleds. The rep said there would be changes to the efi and suspension before fall. If it had a quicker reving engine or more HP I might buy one.

Well...I guess that's not too bad of a review. I really like the Phazer for its size and strangely enough, it's looks. I'll probably wait till 08 to get the mountain lite. I imagine there will be a few bugs the first year.
Thanx guys…keep the reviews coming.

For a sled that has close to the same power to wieght ratio as my old Exciter, this thing has none of the "snap". After riding in Muni on Sat I have to say that I love the new frame and it has an awesome suspension. It is just a pooch. I really hope that they can remap the EFI to get some snap out of it... but this might just be what 4 stroke twins do compared to 4 stroke tripples. I love the idea of a lightwieght sled as my old exciter was a blast to ride, but I need some snap going from corner to corner, and right now the Phazer just doesn't have it.

The old Exciters were more than 80HP, weren't they? Sure felt like it. One of my most favorite sleds ever was the Exciter SX the last year.

I also rode in munising. First off, what a COOL EVENT. I had the master plan all written up - new Phazer Mountain Lite for the little lady next year (and for me when she doesn't ride) The mountain lite was kept in the stable due to conditions, but I did ride the fx, gt, and venture lite.
Totally disappointed by the rough power delivery and lack of engine spunk. Perhaps I'm not an 80hp sled type of guy, but I was hoping for a little more.
Also noted the big differences between the 3 cyl's and the 4cyl's. Not a lot of torque on the bottom end of the 4 cyl. (not to mention the clutch doesn't engage until 3.5-4k rpms) She sure wants to run once you get her going, though. Apex had very light steering, very strange when compared to a rs rage or rs venture (my current sled) - must be better front to rear balance.
The 3 cyl also feels like there is a garage door spring on the throttle cable compared to the 4 cyl. (carb vs. efi, I suppose)
Everything else with the phazers was very promising - chassis, ergos, etc.
Mr. Yamaha: Give me a 136", rider forward, and at least a 3 cylinder EFI engine. I'm having to consider the unthinkable for next season - a doo 600 sdi renegade as a placeholder for the 08 yamaha's.

An Attack GT would be the ticket for you.

Exactly, except for the $$$$$$$$ and the fact I don't "need" 150 hp.
I rode an attak in munising also, not sure if it was the GT or not. No doubt, it's a nice sled.
