bought used 03 rx-1 and could not believe how bad this thing handled with stock front suspension. cranked front springs max, much better but will need 13 mm sway bar. where is the best place to buy this. and do i need different links or are the 03 long ones compatible with 13 mm bar. im a big heavy dude so is this even enough or do i need bigger springs too. need cost effective repair. :o|

Contact Bruce Schrader(?) at Pioneer Performance.......one stop shopping for all the pieces parts you need. Going from memory (cause it's been a couple of years) I think it was around $235 for everything. Good luck!

Wouldn't "cranking front springs max", as you like to say, make handling worse? I assume that you tightened up the front springs? The general concensus around here is that you need to loosen the front springs to minimum. This will reduce COG, and help in turns.

But you will still want sway bar, links, and springs. (And English lessons) :tg:

I've been thinking about the front preload on the shocks and have a question. I've ran the front springs with no preload for 3 seasons, including one full season with Ohlins and no preload. The M10 sucks up the moguls well enough but the front end is always harsh, bouncing a lot. The Ohlins are set at min., but with no preload, are not the springs absorbing all of the ride and the shocks not working until I hit a large mogul? Wouldnt it work if I put some preload on the springs so the shocks will do some of the work?
What do you guys think?

IMHO: You could slap a set of Ohlins on, right out of the box, and go sno-x racing, and you'd be hard-pressed to bottom at all.

It sounds like the shocks are setup way too agressive for your riding style. Either the springs are too stiff, or the valving is, or both? I first noticed a similar problem with the rear Ohlins I had on my '04 skid. It was either too stiff, or stiff. Bruce changed the spring which worked, but the valving was still too agressive, and I could only run #3 soft. Talk to Bruce @ Pioneer.

Do you have the PC or PRC type Ohlins? PRC has rebound dampening which will help on the bouncing around part of your front handling.
