thanks, looks like I have em the right way then.
it was a used subframe from a blown phazer. There was oil and engine shards all over it. A half of a roll of shop towels, an entire can of degreaser, and about 45 mins later she almost looks brand new,

Sweet, I did the same job on my 09' this summer. I bought my used subframe from hibshman25 here on TY. Not a bad job, just takes some time. Are you adding locktite to your starter bolts before you install the new subframe? Good luck with your build. G.B.

Okay, I need to rant to someone!
Thursday February 7th:
I called my dealer saying I had a phazer that the ball joint recall hadnt been done on. He said he would order ball joints that day, and I could just drop off my control arms to have it done since I already had them off the machine
Monday February 11th:
I dropped the control arms off at the dealer
Tuesday February 12th:
Dealer called and claimed someone sold the balljoints he had ordered, new order placed
Thursday February 14th:
Dealer said my control arms were too worn to put new joints in. Brand new control arms ordered
Tuesday February 19th:
Dealer called and said control arms never came, because they can no longer get control arms in blue! Gave the reluctant Okay to order black ones
UPDATE - Friday February 22nd:
I called dealer, said only one control arm came in, other should be there Monday
UPDATE2 - Monday February 25th:
I called the dealer, control arm didnt come in. 'Should be in Tuesday'
I've lost all faith in the supply chain from Yamaha. This is insane.
So now I will have black lower control arms, and blue uppers. They won’t even be in until Friday if I am extremely lucky, otherwise most likely Monday the 25th. That’s two and a half weeks after the original warranty claim was started… or looking at a calendar, almost the entire month of February! The season in MN could easily be over by the first week of march if the models hold true and there is an extended period of temps in the 40’s the first week. I have yet to even ride the damned sled other than the short test ride in -30 wildchills in just my helmet, gloves, and jacket. I was too damned cold to really get to appreciate it. Starting to get worried I won’t even get a chance!

You could just put old arms on with new joints. If they say the pocket dia is too big just put some tinfoil around the joint OD to take uo the clearance. The joints should be a slip fit not a tight press fit anyway.

mine were so worn that they wore into the raceway and broke the dealers press tool trying to get them out.
Its real common for the ball to come out of race when pressing them out due to wear. That just means the race is in there tight. If they are worn the whole bearing race and all would just fall out when clip is removed.I wonder if they messed up the arms?Did you see them?

not after the dealer had em, but before I realized there was a recall on the ball joints I pulled the c-clip outta one of the control arms and she still would barely move. They were pretty bad.

That's why I refuse to do any maintenance during the season unless its absolutely necessary.
I hope for you it really comes in time.

I'd be pizzed about black instead of blue. I would insist they paint or powdercoat to match, unless you really don't care.

Im pretty erk'ed about it, but more so about how long its taking. Temps above freezing and no new snow in the foreseeable future. Maybe that's their plan, delay the parts to the point where I am so frustrated that I'll just want the sled back together so bad I won't even care if they are hot pink.
