Got a set of RSI boards for my 08 MTX.
They don't seem to fit well on the boards. If I'm not mistaken the 10's have different boards and I'm thinking they may be for them.
Another thing I noticed was how big the holes in the boards; theyre huge! I'm thinking the toe of my boot would get caught in them.
Anyone know if this is a common concern or if other brands are the same.
I wondering of I could find a different/better fitting set.
Got them from royal distributing and it will cost me approx 65-75$ to send them back so I'd like to make th work but not at the expense messing up the sled or possibly getting my foot stuck in the holes and messing up myself.
Just like your experience and advice.
Thanks

The 10`s and up have a different angle 11 degrees I think and might be a little narrower, the 08`s are 8 degrees. I think the 08`s are the same width all the way back until the suspension brackets then they narrow up. You could potentially drill out the rivets in the outside grip edge and trim your boards to fit and rivet the edge back on. . They would narrow like the 10`s but still have the 08 tunnel angle. All depends on your fabricating skills and what tools you have at your disposal.

Thats what i may have to do with these if i keep them. I have already cut the boards off and turned the grip edge to the tunnel behind the drop brackets.
May have to do a bit more trimming and modification.
Have you had any experience with these boards....quality wise?

No personally I have never laid eyes on a set. But there is a couple of different makers out there that were selling these style of boards before Skinzs came along. Some guys liked them and some didn't. Most seems to depend on your riding style and how heavy you are. Some guys were bending them and others developed a crack in the corners where the foot grabs are bent up.
When ever I have to bend any aluminum like that I always drill a hole in the corners and that helps to stop the cracking.
How thick are the boards. I was looking at the RSI and WRP boards as options until I get my tig welding figured out and I can make my own air boards.

Not sure how thick they are but looks around 3/16.
I decided to keep them after. I have one on and have to do the other this weekend. They seem petty sturdy. I just cut out for the new boards and did not modify the shape of the original boards. If i had my time back i would have modified the original boards to match the RSI boards and riveted the grip trim directly to the new boards as said earlier.
Maybe a job for next year.
Hope we will get a bit of pow to try them in soon.
