Slydog ski question

The thing that made the biggest difference was the Bergstrom Ski Saver 3/8" thick.

Yes, the ski savers eliminated the darting that I saw and for $15 a inexpensive fix.

for your information i,ve had the slydogs on for about 2000 miles now. i started off with six inch carbides and the skis did dart. i then put on bergstrom four inch triple points, ski savers and shims. made a huge difference. for you ontario guys i can go along the seguin trail (rail line) at fifty or sixty miles an hour if i want with one hand on the bar. allen seems to think you just need the ski savers. i put on the carbides,shims and savers all at once so i can,t help you there. i would get the ski savers for sure for fifteen dollars it can,t hurt.

FXR, I will order the same set-up from Bergstrom but a lot of time and bucks to make these skis work the way they were advertised. Guess this is what happens when you test a product rather than order Simmons.

After the ski savers the darting was eliminated. I tried shimming the skis before that and it still darted. I have a set of triple point carbides, but haven't had a chance to try them yet. With just the ski savers and stock carbides the darting was gone.

jimmie d, actually on any RX/RS models these skis don't dart. It seems that the rider foward position on the Apex models changes the characteristics of the skis somewhat.

i agree with the darting on the rider forward. when i first got my sled this year and backed off on the throttle i went oh! oh! give me back my 05 rx1 it takes a while to get the sled setup. so i guess when slydog makes a ski specifically for the apex and attak we,ll get new skis 8)

When you decelerate at highspeed you lose all control, scared the crap out of me the first time..

This season is pretty much over, anyone in the market for some slightly used Slydogs? 4" standard carbides, black on black, 600 KM in only the best conditions (had them 1 month - Febrary). Ontario area, will pay shipping.

Sorry, they're not for sale anymore. I just oredered Bergstrom carbides with his ski-savers, hope that cures the darting. Plus mine are the Trail version.
