rode the rtx yesterday and it bottomed way to much.even on full hard. where can i buy the stiffer spring for cheapest price and is it hard to put in. :4STroke:

Whats your weight and what settings do you have it on currently. They come from the factory very soft.

i wheigh 170# the dampener is on full hard and the shock spring is on medium im gonna go put it on full hard and see what its like.

I rode 350 miles on my RTX and it bottomed out a lot for me too.

Just remeber, the rear spring has 21 settings (7 clicker settings and 3 "preclicker" [for lack of a better term] settings). It comes set from the factory at four from softest. You need to take the rear spring out and adjust the 3 place preclicker to the hardest setting (I haven't done this yet, but I will be shortly). I think it explains it on the laminated suspension card that comes with the sled.

i talked to pioneer performance 2day he said hes been getting a lot of people complaining about the shocks.i only weigh 175pounds and he said people that are 150 pounds are bottoming. hesaid the spring is 95 from him and he also revalves them for $45 and hesaid if i sent him the shock he would put the spring on for free he said he recommends both the spring and the valving. he said even if its real stiff there are so many adjustments you can make it works out great.so for $140 im going to get my shock revalved and the new spring put on. ill be sending it out 2morrow. he said he is done with em and has them shipped the next day. 1 day turnaround that good. call him and talk to him he was very patient and explained everything in full detail. bruce is a great guy. btw i recommend everyone to do this or one or the other it will bottom for everyone

hypertexter I too am from Billerica and will be buying an Attack tomorrow. I weigh 160 and ride very hard. do you think Ill need the stiffer spring and revalve? I had an 04 Warrior and bottomed it out, so much I ended up selling it.

not sure about the attack but the way mine bottoms id say everyone that rides an apex attack and rides fairly to hard aggressive riding will need it. the attack i would just go with the spring. where are you buying it from. let me know when you get it i will take you too my secret snowcross/motocross track in billerica its the best place to start trust me. the whoops are about as big as the trails up north on a busy sat.so if it bottoms there rolling through them like me. imagine it on the trails. where do you live. do you live on river st because i almost bought a warrior there.

I did this. Setup from the factory its on the first clip. I set it to the third. The first only goes up to 210 at max settings so most people are going to bottom on it. Taking the shock out is a very easy operation it's worth doing this (something your dealer SHOULD have done at prep) before you spend the extra change for heavier spring. Whip the shock off and take it in to your dealer. He'll compress it, set it to the second or third clip and you're on your way. Third clip the lowest setting is something like for a person that's 270 so you should see a huge improvement.

I'll let you know, should have some seat time wed on it up on "The Hill."
