Alatalo, I have checked that allready and regarding my dealer you have to pay 900SEK for the plates, ordered seperatly@450SEK each. Its not covered by Yamaha Sweden.
(close to 100$!)
I know, sometimes their warranty policy sucks. But 900 SEK is small compared to some of the modifications I have already done. And it is close to nothing compared to the twenty-something-thousand SEK required for a new tunnel if you manage to do like diesel kid and some others have already done. Because if the "patch kit" is not covered by warranty, then I can not imagine that you will get a cracked tunnel replaced for free...?

Ive seen another reinforcement that really gets me going-I do think that it will acually do better than the "patch kit"? It is also an OEM Yamaha product, the cost is 1250 SEK/side=2500 SEK (~300$)
I think am gonna go the budget way, make my own patch kit at work and put those money in this instead!? (I know, I am a like my granfather...save a dime here to spend a dollar at some other place :drink: )

I have seen similar reinforcements made by aftermarket companies, but I did not know that you can get them on a Yamaha part number...? By the way, what is the part number...?
They will for sure be useful in strengthening the tunnel and the floorboards between the rear suspension mounting points (to avoid the classic REV snocross problem where the tunnel cracks off just in front of the rear mounting point...). Though, this is way beyond the purpose of the "patch kit", which is aimed more at preventing the rear part of the tunnel from "falling down" (like it did in the 05-06 RX-1:s...).
However, the added floorboard traction would for sure be nice. Am I the only one that thinks the -09 SE floorboard traction is no better than the -08:s...?

I went to farm and fleet in rice lake to pick up some farm supplies today, and stopped in at hauck powersports (where I bought my rtx se) and asked them about this tunnel patch kit, showed them the part number, and sure enough they found it somewhere in their computers. So they ordered one for me and a few of them for some other guys that had their sleds in getting other stuff done, and I'm gonna bring mine in next week and they'll install it for free...because I'm still under warranty.

Just thought I would let some of you guys know if you didn't know about this, so if you have the SE, bring the part number in to your dealer and see what they say!

They also had a brand new 09 RTX SE with their stroker kit, full exhaust, fuel programmer, and clutch kit...for $16,000... guy said about 165 HP. And a new 09 XTX with the same, for about $15,000

when did Yamaha issue this recall? I picked my SE up 2 weekends ago and they aren't installed. To make it worse I mounted my license plate there so I have to drill another hole :o| Drilling out the last hole (used one existing) was like drilling into my own leg :whine: #$%&*

I paid for a patch kit to update my 2009 XTX. If it is on the new sled there has to be a good reason.

My dealer knew the update was for the SE.
But told me about them cause they had some other customer 09 XTX tunnels bend in that spot.
Sold me the parts at cost, I think, around $35.

I added the competition tunnel stiffeners and then had the dealer install the plate...not in the picture yet but it's on there now....it's a pretty stiff tunnel with these two things added...If I bend it then it's a sign that I need to lose a lot of weight!

with the competition tunnel stiffeners did it allow you to cut bigger holes in your running boards for less snow build up?
