RX-1 airbox question

I was just wondering if when you were going across the lake if you could take off your air box cover. Its only a couple of snaps and i was thinking it might add a couple mph's. I think it would be ok as long as you dont get any water or snow in the air flow. Tell me what ya think. Thanks for your time.

The sled will fall on its face. It needs the cover to create vacuum for the carbs. If you want better breathing get a K&N kit from ecp.

Not to mention the jetting will be too lean...not a good idea at all.
