HEY GUYS GREAT TO BE THINKING ABOUT SNOW ALREADY.... I HAVE A FEW THINGS I NEED TO SORT OUT BEFORE THE SLED LEAVES MY HOUSE AND GOES UP NORTH TO OUR WINTER HOUSE FOR SLEDDING. I HAVE TO DO ALL THE WORK I CAN HERE BECAUSE UP NORTH I DONT HAVE ACCESS TO ALL THE TOOLS ECT... ANY WAYS HERES THE SCOOP. STOCK 2003 RX1 ONLY MODS ARE A APEX SEAT, BAR RISERS, SIMMIONS FLEXI SKIS AND QUICK ADUJSTS ON THE PRO ACTION SKID.....
LAST YEAR TOP SPEED ON THE SPEDO I SAW 97MPH AT ONLY 9000.RPM.
I KNOW ITS NOT RIGHT..... FIRST PROBLEM IM A VERY GOOD MECHANIC BUT I NOW JACK ABOUT CLUTCHING... SO SPEAK SLOW...HA HA.
UP GRADES I WANT TO MAKE FOR THE YEAR ARE A NEW TRACK AS BIG A LUG AS POSSIBLE I DONT LIKE STUDS BUT WOULD CONSIDER A PRE STUDDEDD. IM ALSO ORDERING A 13MM SWAY BAR.

do a search, there is a lot of info on here on different clutch setups.

Stock clutching should be at least 10k rpm,s. You have some issue preventing you reaching those rpm,s.
You gotta start looking at components & start by disassembling both clutches & check wear parts & clean.

Turk, Is it safe to drop the main jet by one in this machine? Warm temps in the spring make it real fat.

Run ecp filters with the recommended jetting. nice gains & does not run fat in warmer temps.

THANKS GUYS LIKE I SAID IM NEW TO THE WHOLE CLUTCHING DEAL BUT IM NOT AFFRAID OF IT SO I WILL PULL THEM OFF AND TAKE THEM APART FOR CLEAING. WHAT SHOULD I BE LOOKING FOR OTHER THAN THE OBVIOUS ANY BROKEN PARTS. ANY TYPE SPRINGS AND SETTINGS... IM CLUELESS FOR THE SET UP END OF THINGS.

Stock clutching specs are in the tech pages. I would check to see if your primary is all gunked up & check secondary helix buttons.

Same puller works on every yvx primary clutch.

The 48 gram base hh,s work well on a rx-1. i can give you a close set up.

Remove and clean the carbs. Check pilot screws on the carbs, set them at 1-3/4 to 2 turn out from lightly seated. Check the rubber boots on the slides for wear. Syncronize the carbs when they are back on the sled. Primary spring may have sagged and is useless, buy a new spring of any type Turk suggest. Change the Secondary spring as well. Change the fuel filters inside the tank.

Check engine alignment and paralellism.
