If you are talking about the size of the wheel compared to the torque sensing link then yes on the Rx you will likely need to round off the upper corner of the torque link to clear the track. Even then it may rub a little on the track but doesn't make any marks or hurt anything.

2.5 challenger extreme????
with those types of tight clearances is it going to cause problems? i've heard folks run the 2.5, but i'm probably like most who are a bit leary.
i nearly bought the maverick but now i'm rethinking the challenger extreme on my rx1 project ???? man i wish the maverick had a better track record.
any thought on the left side bearing on the drive shaft that damn thing is on there!!!!!!!!! and i've taken out the allen bolts.

Joe, nope there's not a lot of room between the tunnel and tips of the paddles. I'm hoping that track porting (drilling a series of 1 1/4" holes in the track) will provide enough area for the snow and air to escape as it moves to the front of the tunnel.
The Maverick is a good all around track but it does (so I have read) have some long term reliability issues). Without a turbo the problems may not be as pronounced.
The speedometer bearing is sometimes rusted onto the shaft. I'd recommend dynamite.

On the speedo bearing; Did you loosen all three (I believe it was three) of the allen head set screws that lock it to the drive shaft? If not this is probably your problem.

I wouldn't leave you hanging with a joke Joe.
Actually I'm pretty sure there are only two Allen screws. I just put mine back together. It's probably rust that can be broken loose by shoving the drive shaft out of the hole toward the clutch side and then using the appropriate tools (Vise grips maybe) to twist the locking collar on the shaft to break lose the rust or break the locking collar free. Maybe some penatrating oil has a place here?
Good luck

drivers are out !!!!!!!!!!!!! holy crap 3 nights i'm sure i've tweak'd the thread on the end of the shaft i'll just have to deal with it. ended up cutting out the rivets on the collar and took out the whole things, at least i can get it to the shop to press on the drivers, they've got a bit more mechanical advantage.
any home made press options or ideas for removing and installing drivers?? i've always taken them to the shop it's nice having a no brainer phase in the project.
also took off the stock tunnel extension and rear drop brackets. nearly broken a toe when it came loose, there's was some serious weight compared to the hartman extension.
started working on the m7 skid bogie wheels, torque relocation, and anti stab. i'm optomistic!
the track debate continues, heard word that there are actually 2 types of maverick track yamaha and camoplast. the word was to stay away from the yamaha but the camoplast is a pretty descent track? i've been reading the debate over in snowest and talking to folks like robbie(avid), it seems the pros of the camo extreme outway the cons?? however you can't find one right now? i've got my name on a camo extreme at trackusa, but that could change again.

installed the wildchild rider forward kit this weekend. not to bad a setup i'm switching to a set of apex handlebars which required a bit of tweaking but for the most part should work fine
a note to those embarking on the mod the diameter of the old post hole is 5" i was able to use an old 5" lid as the base and aluminum rivets to hold it. the clearance of the handle bar base isn't too bad either. just waiting on risers
question
lights, in order to run the rpm pod in its new location the connectors for the lights is located near the steering post. my plan is to purchase a few led or flood lights and rewire them back thru the engine compartment and up the hood. i'll post a pic later.
apex handle bars the hand warmer connector is different than the rx1 my plan is to snip and use different connectors is there a positive and negative warm coming out of the warmers again a pic will help

took the weekend off to antelope hunt and wait for more parts... could have used the sleds we were definitely pushing snow with the truck bumpers heading over the passes.
i've installed a 6" riser w/ apex handle bars and ncluded a lefty throttle ended up cutting a wire in the grips and had to splice and dice?? just a bone head move. the handwarmer off the apex have different connectors so i need to figure that out? the apex bars are significantly straighter bars and the 6" riser puts them about where the stock bars would be with a 2" rise?? got them for free with new grips warmer and bar ends i'll try'em, the bars are definitely high but i got the 4" riser as well and will see what works.
also bought some fog lights and hand guards, it's real tough fitting the the lefty and the mount for the hand guards so i'm thinking of keeping the stock light and cutting the windsheild down? actually that's why i was cuts into the grips. also waiting on some aluminum drop brackets for the skid, it's pretty much ready for install, the holtx relocation kit and anti stab wheel and wheel kit are installed.
still haven't pulled the trigger on a track but i'm back to thinking the maverick will work just fine...

nearly forgot... had the new avid drivers pressed on this last week and the dealer had to cut the bearing off they broke there puller trying to get it off. it's good to have a bit of adversity.
started feeling a bit of regret going to the 3.0 vs 2.52 extros, knowing the camo 162x16x2.25 2.52 ($650-)was availible. but with the sale of my old drivers and track it shouldn't be too bad. new maverick ($424)

Go with the Maverick. If you don't hammer on it on ice and roots and rocks it lasts just fine. The clearance is good as it was designed to fit the bulkhead and Tracks USA has them on for 399.00.
