i had carb problem this year. cleaned it the first time it was working find then its started again go bug. so i changed the filter inside the tank, cleaned the tank, fuel pipe and cleaned the carburator again. i set the set crew at 2 and 1/8 and its was running way too lean. now i'm at 2 1/2 and its seem to run good but the spark plug read lean again. any idee what could be the problem? no mod on the engine its all stock.

carb and airbox boots (rubbers) are on correctly and tight with no splits? o-rings good on top of carbs on cv?

yes the air box and carb are installed correctly. i will check back today to make sure the o-ring are good or there on the top of the carb. also went for a bigger drive yesterday. 2 sparkplug look not bad but 2 are still lean. i will try 2.75 and 3 for those 2 carb.

Did you check the little screens on the needle and seats when you had the carbs apart for cleaning? They could be plugged with crud.
