Saskatchewan -28 C ride, not without problems

it sure is a small world. i work at a Yamaha dealership in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and live in Herbert. who do you hunt with sinjin? anyways, we haven't had any problems with the phazers like blueheron was saying, but i cant know for sure that my customers were riding when it was -28 out either.

Herbert is my home town, still have land there.

Hey Yami450D and canadianhunter, It is cool you are from Herbert. I bet we know some of the same people and maybe have met. I have been going up there for about 6 years and one of the guys I hunt with has been going for more than 20 years. This is the first year we have missed in a long time, we had it planned and then things fell apart due to family commitments. We do our own thing up there, not guided. Stay at Jakes motel and hunt all around the area. Do you know the Klassen brothers, they are good friends of ours. I know lots of others some of which are Dezi, Ozzy(doug), Wes and Rusty, Jake and Byron, all the Klausens, Marvin B., Austin T., Rick Mcg., and more.
I've even ridden a little in the area, ripped around a field on a Warrior and rode about 10 miles into town on a Rev.

As I learned here on this forum, I decided to check the antifreeze strength. Looks like 100% glycol. Drained off close to a canadian litre, added 4 oz of water wetter and distilled water to make up the ballance. Just want to be sure I have all the air out. Looks like a bleed on line next to tank. Anyone use that to bleed the system??? Hope this helps cool this machine down.

Thanks for the advice on drilling the holes.

How much is a "Canadian Litre"?

James Klassen is my brother in law[he has mentioned the us hunters], and I believe Phil and Joe have the sleds you mentioned. Jake and I went sledding in the 70's, Byron hung out with my nieces, Ozzy[Doug] and I worked together for a number of years, Marvin and I hung out in the 70's plus he comes up moose hunting to Reserve when he is not busy with water foul at Herbert. I also know who the rest are. Boy it's a small world.

1000cc's (cubic centimeters) or just a bit shy of an imp quart. It took 4 imp quarts to make 1 imp gallon. It takes 4.5 liters to equal an imp gallon. Just so you know there is no such thing as a Canadian liter. A liter is a liter world wide even in Newfoundland. LOL

Boy it sure is a small world. I know Jim and Pam pretty well. We have had some good goose hunts in the field just east of their house. Your right on your guess who's sleds I rode. I have eaten some of that moose Becker shoots up there, pretty tasty. Ask Marvin sometime about the US vs Canada golf Tournement. We usually play down in Morse but have played at Herbert also. Used a Suburban as a golf cart once, drove it right down the course at Herbert. Had to have something to haul the beer in. Have a great riding season. :rocks: Dave

Ya, i know most of those guys pretty well, klassens have an 06 apex mtn. and an rx warrior, haven't gotten a chance to go ridin with them yet.

Sorry about the "Canadian" litre. Update for the topic, I found that there was quite a lot of air in the system. If you take the little rubber cap on the rad hose next to the antifreeze resevoir off you can bleed the air out. I was thinking you could temporarly instal a clear line on that and and use it like a trap. Any thoughts on that? Hopefully this will solve the heating issue. Outside temp has warmed up and that has helped with the snow and ice in the steering boots.
