You and most of the MTX guys are very happy with their Nytro's. I think most of the STD Nytro owners are pleased also. I think if you read most if not all the complainers posts you will see they own the RTX version. I think many of them bought the wrong sled. The RTX is built to run very hard and if you plan on trail riding it or deep snow riding it you will be very unhappy. I've read alot about getting the crap beat out of some RTX riders and the reason is they are expecting a soft ride over stutters with it and thats not what it was built for. They were told not to get the RTX unless they plan on very hard mogul mashing. Now most of them are
trying to soften the RTX up to make it more trail freindly. I think the STD Nytro with different skis can and will be an awesome trail sled. The RTX is
suspended like a rock and if you like riding on a lumber wagon then the RTX will be very nice for you.
I think the same thing happened in 06 with the Apex. I bought a Apex ER and I never had any handling or shock issues with My sled. Now the owners of the Apex GT had nothing but handling and shock problems. The Ohlins on the GT were a nightmare that first year. That was for sure a case of simpler is better and the fancy shocks turned out to be the biggest problem on the 06 Apex.

good post jds..many want the snocross image, but in reality the std is best for 99% of riders, you still have to buy what suits your stylejds1000 said:DITCHBANGER said:ive been waiting soooo long for a sled like this, rider forward and a 4 stroke strong motor to boot, ive beaten every long track i ride with in racing, cruising in pow,gas mileage..sled runs the same everyday, been out at -25 and plus 7..spot on!!i dont even like driving a narrow powerband 2 stroke anymore..

I have 1200 km's on my RTX, and I am very happy with it so far. Most fun machine I have owned so far. As far as riding like a rock, I dont agree, there is so much suspension adjustment on the RTX, its just time and tuning. I am a light weight at 165 pounds fully dressed, and I have this thing dialed exactly where I want it. It handles like its on rails eats stutters and goes thru the big hits perfect for me. The best part it beats my buddies F1000 to 95mph. Both from dead stop and rolling start I pull a sled length on him every time and he doesnt pass me till 95mph. Love it

Best motor ever! Slide wear stinks so I cut out the rest of the windows, Should reduce alot of friction. I wasn't sure about the sled at first but now getting it dialed in and it is a whole new machine. I only have 500 miles on it. Gas milage is 14 mpg that is running it very hard. Oil cunsumption 0, I like that part. Fox floats are awsome for the bad stuff. Time will tell with spindle and arm rumors I hope its BS. Mine have taken a pounding and everything looks good.

I like my standard Nytro but if I was to do it again, I would have bought the RTX and switched out the Floats for something else.
One thing is for sure, if it wasn't for TY and my dealer, I would not be posting that I was satisfied with my sled. The standard Nytro does not come set up to be ridden at high speeds through the rough.
I know it is next to impossible for an OEM to supply suspension settings that satisfy the majority of riders but it seems to me that the standard Nytro was calibrated for a very light (130lb), non-aggressive rider.

130lb rider??? WTF?
I'm 250lbs+gear on STD Nytro.. no problems. Suspension works good.. Sucks up some pretty big bumps.. I rode it through some of the worse trial conditions I've ever seen.
Unless the the rear springs go soft on me.. I shouldn't have any problems in the future.

That's the problem with setting up suspensions. Rough conditions in your neck of the woods may not be considered rough in mine. I'm around 200lbs geared up and the stock set up was way too soft for me. I bottomed the rear skid out everywhere and actually limited my riding until I got different parts to set it up because I was afraid I'd break/fatigue the rear skid with the constant bottoming.

Can't believe the differences owners describe their Nytro's suspension.
All I can say is Mine is perfect for Me. I've had to adjust and dial some settings but this is the best trail sled I've ever owned to date by far. Hole shot and accelleration are raped ape fast. It's just a great all around, Fun, big bump trail sled. Great ergonomics. Jumps nice. I've been having more and more fun everytime I ride it.

I would have to really stiffen up my wifes FX if I were to ride it regularly. I'm 225 now. It's perfect for her because like you say it's on the soft side. Not sure how much you can stiffen it up, because she doesn't really need it.

Initially, I found mine (RTX) was too soft until I adjusted the rear suspension clickers, and now I find it's awesome, even still with the rear torsion springs on the medium setting. My neighbour is more of a relaxed rider compared to most in our group, and he finds his RTX suspension works fine for trail riding. I'd say we both run about 220-230 lbs geared up. From my experience, the RTX can be softened up enough for pretty much anyone if you adjust the suspension properly. I started from scratch and went to both extremes when I did my adjustments and I couldn't believe how soft this sled could be set up, but on the other hand, it can be hardened up quite stiff as well, so there's more than enough range in the RTX suspension settings from what I've tried. Overall, we are BOTH VERY HAPPY with our sleds, just a few minor issues for me.

Definitely, with the dual clickers on both rear shocks the RTX has far more adjustment than the standard Nytro. The standard Nytro only has preload adjustment for the center shock and preload & compression for the rear. In my experience, the standard Nytro rear skid can't keep up with the front end.

I agree with this reply word for word.....
I agree totally also. I now have mine set super stiff & it still bottoms on medium size bumps. The stutter bumps are very harsh - I can ride my wife's Phazer FX (set up for her weight) thru the same section of trail & the ride is WAY more plush -yet it never bottoms. I wish my Nytro rode like the Phazer. I'm 6' 200lbs & shes 5' 8" 140. There's lots of things I love about the Nytro, but the suspension (& warmers) need some work.
