Seat foam softer on GT

I think I read this but I talked to a few yamaha guys and they say its the exact same foam in every apex seat.

I went from a apex seat last year on my RX which I think was from a mountain to this GT and the GT seems lower either it is or I'm squishing it too much but now its not as comfortable as the RX with that apex seat was. I lost some weight compared to last year as well so no fat jokes LOL

Be real nice to get a 2" higher out of it.

I don't think they are the same. I put a Mountain seat on my old RX-1 and now I'm on a Vector GT and the GT seat is definitely softer. I know what you mean about squishier and sinking down. It definitely feels lower getting to the standup position is a little more work being 6"1".

GT seats are definately softer. Last year my buddy wanted to check out the electronic ohlins on my 07 Attak GT so we swapped. He had an 07 base attak and on his sled I stayed up high while on mine you sunk in. That's why firmer foam was added to my 08 GT.

Yes I am 6' 1" and I cant believe the difference. When I got this apex I was sitting on it in the garage and was thinking boy this baby is cushy and thought it would be a good thing. After 400 miles I was uncomfortable and standing even with my risor was hard, a guy on here that is local to me PM'd me and has a stiffer one and wants to trade! Booya! Love this site!

Cool nice seat--how many inches?reminds me of the (REEBOK PUMPS)...maybe one day they will have air adjust seat..like that bed on tv...

had mine hardened up. took to an upholstery place that does bike seats. they cut some phoam out from bottom & replace with more dense. seat is same shape can not tell. it is way more firm. low cost, about $65
