Just got back from 44.5 miles of deep pow riding on the MTX. It kept feeling stronger and stronger, alot stronger than the first ride. This thing feels just as strong as an 800 and pulls harder down low. Way more power than I would have thought. I rode with an 800R Summit and they felt eqaul except I had a way stronger feeling lower end. I have around 80 something miles on it now and it's getting better and better. I only thing I've had to do is add alittle coolant.
The MTX busts up powder like you wouldn't believe. Sidehilling, climbing, donuts in the pow, it feels much much lighter than it really is. I traded with the Summit rider and we both agreed the Nytro felt lighter riding it and is overall better balanced. It truly feels THAT good.
The stock skis are growing on me. I was going to swap them for C&A XT's but will keep them for now, they handle really well in the deep and OK on the trail. I moved the transfer rod nuts all the way up(to the red line) which cured the skid being to soft and weight transfer was still good.
I didn't get to put my pivot riser on yet so I had to ride with the stock bar setup. It's not too bad, not as much as I thought from the previous ride. Riders under 6 ft. should feel fine. Once I can push my weight forward alittle more though it'll rock.
In 44.5 miles of mostly deep pow WFO riding and 60 mph trail riding I used 6.142 gallons...7.24 MPG. When I got back to the truck the fuel light was on(which comes on with the last bar). I only see a MAX of 50 miles being possible in deep snow. I do ride the thing hard though.
All in all, this sled f-king rocks!!! It's going to surprise ALOT of naysayers and will send a few people on their way with a WTF look.
We did take a few videos so once they get emailed to me I'll post them up.

Awesome that sled looked like it was having as much fun as you were. You were tossing it around what looked to be pretty darn easy. Right on!

nikolai,how much fuel did the 800r take?i thought on a bad day the mtx would get 10-12mpg...coming from a doo what your take on the clutching?hot sheeves?do you feel the need for a roller?and are you still running the mav track..thnx again for posting

I'm running the maverick until I get my challenger which will be a couple weeks.
I figured the MTX would get about 8-9 when I bought it(deep snow riding). I'm riding again Sunday so I'll see if it gets better with break in although I doubt it. It's the WFO riding that kills it. last weekend I got 12.5 mpg but didn't ride nearly as hard.
As for the clutching, I didn't open a sidepanel all day. Just rode it so I have no idea if anything was hot.
The Rev which had the 800R motor I think used about 7-8 gallons but I put on 5 more miles. Either way it's worse than I thought it'd be. It's worth it though, the motor is very responsive and throttle response is spot on.

I take it u broke it in WFO right from the start?

Great report man. It is good to hear of the improvement from the first ride to the second ride. The fuel mileage is not good. Hopefully it will get better as it gets broken in. What elevation are you riding at?

I think the mileage will get better. My Vector had 2liters/10km in the breakin period and after first service I couldnt get it over 1,47liters/10km. Dont know the MPG but the mileage should be ~25% lower after breakin...

Couple questions.
* Spending time boon docking in the snow how much snow dumped inside the hood from the holes outside of the head lights?
* Are you still interested in my floats (sorry guys offer is only good to Nikolai at this time) I can drop them off Wednesday and let you test them out but I'd like to have your stock ones to set on my sled until the Ohlins come in....
* Have you ordered your track yet?

SWEET vids man, you guys looked to be having a blast ! I can see now why you had poor gas mileage, but it's well worth it eh ?!? Man, I can't wait to see snow on the ground like that here. Guess we'll both have to get out on the :exc:

It is good to see that the fuel mileage is better than the 800R. After break in it should get a little better too.

- The headlight openings were also a concern of mine, but to my surprise hardly any snow gets inside the sled, it truly is amazing. You would think the entire sled would fill up but it doesn't.
- I would love to try the Floats still and can have my shocks ready to trade you.
- I'm getting the track from a guy in Fairbanks who's on the slope. I didn't order it from anywhere
To question about breaking it in, I did break it in WFO. I think it's the best way to go. And the swaybar is still in the sled. I'll remove it when I put the Floats on.
