Nikolai said:Thanks. Sold the 440 Rev shocks and will have the Nytro SE Floats X's on the way Tuesday. Should drop another 7-8 lbs.
Were they not working out for you?

They work great. I just got a good deal on the SE shocks and want to drop some weight off this thing.

I started working on the hood again last week. It's been a big PIA trying to get all the curves even on both sides. Putty and sand...putty and sand...and so on. I put a coat of spray paint on it tonight so I could find all the little blemishes easier. I added some more putty after the pics were taken and am rounding off some edges a little more to help with the looks. Then I should be ready to glass it, triple check that it's even(and make any changes) and use it as a mold for mine and HYFLYRs.

I'm not painting mine. I will be mixing black pigment in with the resin, so they will just have a black fiberglass look.
caleb, thought i would update you and the others watching this thread about the starter relay issue. here is a cut and paste from another thread. ski
relay part number for those interested is
3EL-81940-02-00 my wife's went bad as well. i bought a new one from another dealer v.s waiting for warrantee at mine. i will turn both my sleds into the dealer to get replacements so i can have a spare.
also in a pinch if you have to you can pull the rubber boots back on the top of the relay where the power and ground cables are and using a set of insulated pliers touch both of those at the same time with the key in the on position (not turned to where it engages the starter), the sled will turn over and start.
my wifes started acting up when cold but would start normally if it was warm. so if the sled starts acting up, you know it is time to order one. these sleds are only a year old this relay should not fail, so it should be covered under warrantee.
nice thing is this relay fits ALOT of electric start yamaha sleds so the dealer may have it under one or more of the older prefix's. so dont just give up if they say they dont have the -02
meaning yamaha's part number above that says
-02 means there were 2 revisions to the part. so there maybe some out there under -01 and -00.
hope this helps someone. ski

I'm wondering if this isn't in the key switch itself. I'm having a problem where mine will not shutoff. you turn the key off and it runs for a little while then dies or sometimes, just recently, it doesn't shut off at all it just keeps running. I have a new switch on order.

Mine was definitely the relay. My sled would shut off fine, it just wouldn't start, until I jumped it with pliers and then it started instantly. Swapped out relays and it starts fine now. I have heard of Nytro owners having issues with the key switch though.
I bought a brand new Leo Vince titanium exhaust for a GSXR1000 off ebay for $200 to my door. I'm going to get ride of the stock exhaust cover and run it tight under the seat like Timbersled does. Should save a ton of weight. It's a bolt on exhaust so I can cut the header shorter, add a flange and keep the exhaust from sticking out to far.

Her are a few pics of the hood in place. I'm fiber glassing the mold tomorrow. Do to some foam in the way the mold doesn't fit quite right but it gives an idea of what the hood will look like.
I'll post more pics when I have a hood done.
I also starting taking the sled apart some to begin fitting the new exhaust. Just not sure what I'm going to do for seat brackets quite yet. I want something strong.

I used an Excell Vector header on mine. It exits straight down the middle and could easily work for what you want to do. If you check out the dyno charts you'll see most of the power gains are from the header not the can.

I you have the funds, I would recommend that route.. I heavily modified my stock header... it was a bunch of work and well, the results are ok.... Next summer I am building a header so I didn't want to spend the dough on one...
As Rx1M5 has stated, most of the performance is in the header itself..
