I smoked a belt at 283 miles on my new 17 SW. After reading lots of posts I pulled the secondary off and sure enough I have two rollers with flat spots. The dealer is happy to warranty them for me but my question is what ones should I put back in it? I see there are several aftermarket options-sled is bone stock and will remain that way this year. Plan to play with it over the summer.

Also-I would like to run the 8DN and not sure how to change the belt deflection to allow it to work properly. Anyone have a "how to" for dummies they could send me?

Love the power of the new SW-hoping to fix the belt issue!

Thanks for your input...

The replacement Yamaha rollers work great, their different than the stock 2017 rollers. My original rollers flat spotted at just over 400 km. My replacement Yamaha rollers changed on warranty now have 2200 km on and look perfect.

For your 8DN belt
Add the small washers ( one more to start with) on your bolt ( the bolt that holds your secondary clutch on) to the clutch side of the big washer to make your belt tighter ,
I’m sure more guys will chime in with replies.

Or you can go with a aftermarket belt adjuster which will allow you to swap back and forth quickly from 8jp length belts to 8DN length. I did this alot last season on Toms. The 8DN will set high in the secondary, exactly like how a DOO belt is set. Pic below of 8DN setup to the proper amt of deflection.

I highly recommend the BOP latest adjuster, which I just ordered. Travis has some very cool new design functions coming into play, one being a hexagonal shape that is not only functional but "trick" looking....I will post up a write-up on mine soon. I was abit disappointed in my OSP adjuster, as the belt change tool/threads gave up the ghost trying to open the pig orange TP spring. Other then that, the OSP is fine.

I would not bother with YAMAHA rollers at all.....they are much narrower then the aftermarkets. I think many are nice out there from aftermarket however the Hi-Torque(brand name) are the ones I feel are different from the rest, and seem to do well rolling along the ramp. My torlons are good too, but im noticing they are so hard and smooth that often i see them slide and not roll. So If i was buying now, id contact Hi torque rollers in western canada.
