I'm very interested in the BV2S but wondering if the SkiDoo or Bombardier logo is on all of them? If they are can they be removed?

Yes, that's the Scorpion EXO 400/700. I'm well aware of that one. Waiting for my dealer to get his shipment of EXO's with some 3XL's in the mix so I can try one one...expected next week he says.

Yes it can. I removed mine and put the Yamaha tuning fork on the back.

Thanks RsRager, how do you like the helmet? Was it worth the money?

The new Cat one is cool looking kinda reminds me of Darth Vader's face mask a little bit. But, I did also hear from others that last years was cold and loud. Was also told by the dealer Cat was updating it. Most likely the update kit will alleviate the cold air and noise issues. I too have looked at the Scorpion, but have not had a chance to try one one. They all seem to be running around $300 which is allot of coin to be the experimental guppies on!

Scorpion EXO-400 is only $149 (US) for a plain one with no graphics. Doesn't have all the crazy features like the more expensive Cat and the Doo ones have, but maybe simplicity is a good thing...
I did try on the Cat helmet, they run big and fit me well, seemed to be very comfortable. Also seem rather complex with all sorts of stuff that could break, and the multiple negative reports I found scared me away from it. But some seem to like it. Also, if anyone is interested in the Cat helmet, definitely check out EBAY. There's a whole bunch of brand new ones out there for almost half of retail...under $200 anyway. You don't see such discounting with the other helmets for some reason.

Craze, I rode with a guy a few years ago that used car window tinting in his HJC helmet. He kept the window tinting rolled up in his pocket. When the sun came out, he simply used the static electricity already in the air to insert the tinting on the inside of the shield. If the sun went down or got dark, he simply removed the tinting and put it back in his pocket.
Pretty cheap solution and he has been doing this for years.

What I use for tint is a colored tinted shield that velcros over your existing shield. Just peel it off and stick it in your jacket when not needed.the tinted part sell for about 18.00 can. and is usually good for 1 to 2 years before it gets too scratched up.

I can give you a simple one man's $.02 on that. I found an ebay seller and did an off ebay purchase for $365.
For me it has been comfortable, warm, quiet, and the shields seem to be especially optically perfect and scratch resistant after 2 riding seasons.
It just might be the best helmet to use a Collett communicator with. Guys tell me my voice comes across especially clear. The quiet factor can help you get more enjoyment out of Sat radio piped thru the communicator.
The rear facing light really helps the riders behind you as your sled tailight can get lost in the snow cloud.
But you can do that to any helmet for $10..could be the best $10 you will ever spend.

Last year, we were riding in ~ -30 to -25 degrees F. (The high that week was -25.) One of the riders had the Ski-doo (I think it was a BVS type) helmit with that internal face piece. We had to stop dozens of times for him to clean the ice out of the air intake holes with a stick. The ice kept plugging the holes. He could not get enough air to even breath.

That would be the original Ski Doo modular helmet your talking about. We had the same thing happen on one of our trips last year. Two guys had the BVS helmets with no problems and one guy had the other Doo modular that kept freezing up to the point he couldn't breath. I got a BVS helmet at the end of last season and my first impression is it's an awesome helmet.

I have the first generation modular helmet form Ski-doo. It's a great helmet except for when it's really cold the exhaust holes for your breath freeze over. I just got a Fly Racing 606 helmet and two pairs of Oakley goggles that I'm going to try. I would like to know however what people are wearing for a balaclava and such under the MX style helmets?
