Going on long trip and I was wondering if it is a good idea to start sled on trailer and warm it up before I leave for our drive in the truck or just leave it alone? I know people say condensation can be an issue. Just seeing what people do

I usually fire mine up and make sure everything is working correctly, don't need to drive a bunch of miles and have the sled not work for ya.

If you fire it up, make sure you let it run till either , A-you watch the temp gauge read around 200... or B- Listen for the radiator fan to kick on. They should be very close 196-200°. This way you know the engine is warm and whatever moisture was inside the engine is evaporated.

When you get to your destination, always let your sled warm up fully. Do not take off right after the light goes off. Many people do this and if there is moisture where the check ball is in the black vent box, it could freeze up and dump all your oil out. Get the sled to 140 before taking off down the trail, you won't have this issue.

Thanks for the advice
