I took the sled around the yard for the 1st time at night. I noticed the headlight gave off a couple of "beams" to either side of the sled. It lit up the area just outside of the skis. Is this new to the 05 or did they always have this? It pretty cool. 8)

Yamaha has the BEST headlight in the business IMHO. Haven't ridden the'05 yet but the '03 definitely made it easy to see and I do think it shined some to the sides.

If you think the stock bulbs are awsome.. TRY some XENON BULBS... WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE.. its amazing what the difference the shade of white you see can make..

Stock is kinda yellow... Xenon is a BRIGHT WHITE or light tint of blue!

Where did you buy your bulbs at welterracer?

You can go to any Automotive retail store and buy them... The biggest thing you have to look for is the H4 in the part number... I believe most motorcycles and Honda cars use the same headlight as our sleds..

You can use 55/60what bulbs and bigger..

I got mine on ebay for $10 plus $7 shipping!(just type in (H4 Bulbs) in the search and WHALLA!!

buy white hot bulbs there 4 times brighter than stock yamaha bulbs best $40.00 i have spent on my sled they say "for off road use only" buy h4 bulbs plus they have slight blue haze halo.

greenmachine/jim,

Any idea which Silverstars? Part no. etc.?

I replaced all of the bulbs in my Suburban with Silverstars and they are awesome. WAAAAAAAAY better than standard GM.

The Part # you want for the Rx-1 is 'H4' It says they are motorcycles/off road use on the box. I too just put these in my sled as well as in my mustang. Great bulb, really is a true white. Ypu don't ntoice how "yellow" your lights are until you compare. I picked them up at Murray's on sale for $17.99/bulb and the they came w/ a $5/bulb mail in rebate. So not too bad of a deal, especially when I had to buy 6 bulbs!
