Good day everyone, just a quick question, with the Hurricane tune my gauge reads .4 psi boost at idle, is that normal or should it read 0? Thank you :)

are you running a 270 tune with a stock exhaust? How much boost are you making? I was short an excessive amount of boost not utilizing an increased flow muffler

Stock exhaust tunes are designed to run with the stock muffler.

Yes running stock muffler but unfortunately I cant help you out as I am new to this used sidewinder, went from 3 previous Apex's to this Sidewinder to which I just purchased. Knew the Apex like the back of my hand, starting all over, a totally new learning experience

I spent many hours searching for the cause of missing 3-4lbs of boost. I had my winder flashed with the Hurricane Tune and after going through the entire sled front to back on clamps, hoses, fittings, boost leak tests. The culprit ended up being my GGB mountain can that after purchasing and installing a new Turbo Dynamic intimidator exhaust (larger outlet) the boost was spot on at wide open throttle. Boost readings at idle were similar to what you're facing. My experience anyways

Let's not confuse this mans question for what you experienced on a tune designed for a performance muffler.

He's not claiming to be low on boost. They don't make boost at idle. Key on they typically set at .2-.9 lbs typically. Idling makes no boost, you can see this in any log. .4 is totally normal at idle. I just checked my last log and key on is .3 and starting the sled its still at .3, run it for miles and let it come to an idle and its sitting at .4 idling there for minutes.

The reason you had low boost at WFO was because of that crappy flowing small tube muffler, on a tune that was designed to have a free flowing muffler. The stock muffler tune is designed for the stock muffler, and should have no issues being low on boost at WFO from the muffler. That wasn't his question. He was asking if .4 was normal, and it's totally normal.
