Does any one have the part number and the manufacturer of the( Disc brake end)bearing on the lower left side that would be better than stock. Will be doing a track change before next season. Thanks

Just buy one from a Japanese manufacturer like Koyo, NTN, NSK, Nachi. Or European mfgr like SKF or Timken. Stay away from Chinese or India mfgr. Peer is China - that's who Cat buys from.

It's a 6009-2RS C3.

I just recently installed a new driveshaft and both the brake caliper and chaincase bearing with SKF bearings. I had ordered the OEM bearings from Country cat as well. I ended up getting the SKF as per Turboflash recommendations for a better bearing. Just comparing the Arctic Cat (Peer) bearing and the SKF in my hands you could feel the quality and weight difference. I had blown 3 bearings up in less than 1000 miles prior to this.

How do you "blow up" a bearing, 3 in less than 1000 miles none the less too?

I have 5500 miles on the stock Peer bearings, installed a new one at 2300 miles only because I put in a new drive shaft assembly, not because the bearing was bad. The Peer bearing is fine as long as it has grease in it. I don't get it I guess. I know we don't baby them.

Some guys must be running them all summer in the sand and water on the beach sand is all I can think of.

I have yet to change one of these bearings. Even when I inspect them, they are in good condition. They last waaaaay longer then that little exposed bearing in the previous all-Yamaha models.

Something is wrong if you went thru 3 bearings like that. Brake side has that 3-hole plate w seal in it to prevent water from getting to bearing. Is your seal good? Is it missing? Just can't unders you and how 3 bearings could fail that fast.

You commented back and fourth with me on a thread a few weeks ago. Not really sure what the route cause was. But 3 bearings that lost all of the balls. After a new shaft and an SKF bearing I managed to ride it once without issue. Our season is done here in Northern New York. Sadly enough I have had 5100 miles on enjoyment out of this sled but I think its time to try out the dark side. 2021 900T XRS for next season.

Should have checked into the B.O.P. updated lower driveshaft bearing and collar repair,in response to thread #11.Over 500 of these updated kits have been sold.

I have installed 4 of those bearings and will be installing a 5th on a brand-new unit when the sled arrives.
I will be taking mine apart this fall to see how the bearing and collar have lasted. I ran my sled through some pretty nasty conditions at the end of last year, nasty enough so that I ruined 2wheels, hyfax, skegs, scratcher, 5 broken studs and beat my skid pretty bad, all in one day!!!!! It should be a good test for how that bearing lasts without the seal plate.

I have installed the new BOP bearing with locking collar. I have marked the shaft where the set screws are located and will report back if there is any movement in the shaft.
In the meantime I am hopeful - of a worry free season without the shaft spinning on the bearing.lol.
