Hey guys since I like to change my oil real early like after 20 miles what oil comes in the side winder and what's everyone plan on using in the oil tank and chain case ? I'd like to have the oil change kit sitting in the garage and ready to go after the first ride

I've read numerous reports that semi or full synthetic is not good for a new engine as far as rings seating correctly ... i think you can get 0w 20 , 30, or 40 in only synthetic so I'm thinking of using 5w 30 for the first couple hundred miles

I understand you want to follow the motoman break in...with these motors...I would'nt take the chance..stick with the full synthetic but follow the technique..if you wanted to gamble...youd have to match the protection package and viscosity they spec and providing it was at above freezing temps maybe...but below freezing with this tight of a motor i wouldnt risk it...

I think your right sj I'm going to just use what comes in it but still change it out real early like the pros say . How hard is an oil change look to be on the sidewinder ?

in the litature it shows 0-40 full synthetic

Since it's a procross turbo (like my prior cat turbos) this is the only thing that kinda bothers me, unless they've added a drain, which I highly doubt, it's not that it's hard but more messy...looks like that bottom house will come off and you will need something to redirect it out the belt pan....other times I'd use my liquid vac and suck it out and get 80-90% first to have less to deal with...then you will remove the access panel to get to the motor to drain....r &r the filter..then on adding oil, I always add a quart directly to the motor after adding the rest into the resi so as not to dry start....

All this was with the suzuki motor...Probably not much has changed though...

What I did was take an old oil quart bottle, and slice the front or face of it off, so when you lay it flat...it's like a mini oil catch and then the spout redirects the oil to the real oil catch below..or even easier a piece of plastic or metal mocked up like like a flat funnel

not really...just a bit detailed to keep if from becoming a messy proposition
