Thanks for all that the replies. Going Sidewinder. Now, 129 or 137?? 129 is actually $500 cheaper.

If you like watching a "YAMAHA" snow flap fade away into distance in front of you - buy an 850.

I have the 137 that has very little transfer .I read somewhere that the 129 transfers better.
I love it , but it would be even better with more transfer .
The guys with the 129 with apparently more transfer , which I cant figure out why , all think it is great .
I would go with the RTX LE if you can , as the shocks are great , and its only 4 inches less on the ground.
The transfer covers for the extra 4 inches , when accelerating , against the 137.
My last sled had 144 tipped rails , which are only about 129 on the ground on hard pack .
My previous sled was a 121 , which is the old short track standard , now the 129 is the short track standard.
I just thought I would need the 137 to help harness the power better , but with very little transfer it spins too much .

The 129" is more nimble.

Can't you adjust 137 for better transfer?
I tested a 141 this year with the uncoupled skid, I liked it and it wasn't excessive transfer at all.
129 would be hard to hook up with the power these things have.

The 129 transfers better for some reason. It was explained in a post somewhere here on TY. I have my 137 transferring just enough to get ski's light, but not off the ground. About perfect for TRAIL riding & that's un-studded.

I own both, and if you can, go this route.
Each sled has its place. Too hard to get it all in one sled.
If the choice is one only...go the 850

spent the day playing in deep powder wherever i could find it. 4-8' all around with the wind drifting big time, would never try that with my doo the way it is set up. the stx 137 dx has the 1.6 track, clutching is perfect, hooking good, transfer is good, and with the 6.9's it begs for the deep stuff. floats like a feather in the wind. simply an all around amazing machine! couldn't have gotten it there without all the great folks here on TY.

you can adjust but doesn't seem to make much difference .Can't you adjust 137 for better transfer?

The 129 and the 137 are coupled , so they are very different to the 141 uncoupled .
the 129 hooks up better than the 137 , due to more transfer .

Take the blocks out and you will love it! 2100 miles on mine without the blocks.. Great over the rises , just touch the throttle and hover the skis!I have the 137 that has very little transfer .

I am going 850 mxz or renegade for a change. No more 4 stroke for me . 2017 MXz 850 going for $10,500 OTD just add 6% sales tax. So that is the 3k in savings you can get over std sidewinder. But if I was going sidewinder I would have to get QS3 so that jumps the sw price quite a bit . Also I think the 850 will have better resale . New G4 is very ergonomic. I will be snow checking a X package. I don't care to go 120mph through the woods. Corner to corner want something I can ride all day without wearing me out. I know the SW is a great sled just to much $$$ and I already tried the chassis with my viper.
Good luck.
