Sidewinder or 850. What to buy

Sometimes luck of the draw plays a part. If I purchased a dud and honestly thought "all Sidewinders blow" cause mine doesn't run as advertised. I would be pretty upset myself.

I think uprider800 (Toby) and others know what I'm talking about.......

I will add.....My Sidewinder is a 121+mph rocket, out of the box. That is all......

It really comes down to what characteristics of each sled are most important to you. I went from an Apex to Nytro to 800 etec to Sidewinder. The Skidoo was the overall best handling sled for sure in stock form. Sidewinder was much closer though than either the Apex or Nytro. Honestly, the only thing about the skidoo I disliked was the fact that the engine went at 6000 miles. Let me down in the middle of a trip to Quebec. In the end I decided the reliability of the 4 stroke was more important to me than the handling benefits the 850 likely offered.

I don't think it's a dud just in stock form it didn't do what I was hoping for. My buds se Sidewinder was a sled length or two faster than my Le. In perfect conditions he was seeing 115 on speedo. In loose snow we would see 105-106. Man I would have been pumped to see 121. Maybe it was the Rtx vs ltx. My xf9000 was a 137 and boosted and conditions didn't seem to matter 120 all day long. If I wouldn't have totaled mine I was going to put a Td powertrail setup and have a blast. For me the less fatigue trail riding opened my eyes. The 850 just took less effort to ride and was a real fun sled. Now on big UP trails I miss the big turbo power. I will keep the 850 and will probably add a Boosted Sidewinder in the future. Like I said booth great sleds and I'm thankful to have had a chance to put miles on two of the latest and greatest sleds on the market. Have a great summer JT!
