I'm having trouble starting my 2018 Yamaha Sidewinder LTX-SE. It won't even crank; the Gauge Pod lights up, and I can hear the fuel pump operating, but the starter doesn't engage at all. I have removed the battery, tested it, and fully charged it. I then also connected a TackLife T8 power/boosting station to the battery while turning the key. Everything appears to work but the starter, not even starting to turn.
I believe the starter relay is located near the battery. Is that right? Should I try heat that up? Which fuse(s) should I check? Are there any fuses or relays outside the fuse/relay box at the front of the sled? Which specific relays should I be concerned about and consider warming up?
Additionally, how do I access the starter and solenoid? I suspect the starter is on the rear side of the engine, beneath or in front of the gas tank. Is there a way to short out the starter connections to see if that would help it start?
I was also told that if I couldn't turn the motor backwards, the starter is bad. Any other helpful hints?

DO NOT TURN THE MOTOR BACKWARD!!!!
The starter will be the least of your problems.

Never turn the motor backwards as already stated!!!
Maybe try to turn the clutch the proper way to ensure the motor rotates freely and is not locked up.

Yes, starter solenoid is right at battery.
Are all cables hooked up and tight?
How about at starter?

The starter relay is at the front in the fuse box.

It's under the seat right at the battery. The starter relay is at the front in the fuse box.

The nuts on that relay work loose sometimes. I check mine every year and tighten them up.

I went a bought a new starter relay and while putting it on the starter motor turned a number of times. Yet, after getting it on and turning the key, nothing. So, I shorted across the two solenoid terminals and got it started. Did I get a new solenoid that is bad? How so? What else could/would it be?

Obviously your ignition switch is not triggering the solenoid for some reason.
A couple possible causes:
-faulty ignition switch
-faulty or disconnected wiring

kill switch and Key switch preventing triggering the starter solenoid. Got the sled inside today to warm it up and hopefully remove any moisture. Now back outside. We’ll see if it starts tomorrow.Obviously your ignition switch is not triggering the solenoid for some reason.
