Hey All
I just read my previous thread on the shims has been locked. I was advised by a moderator that if i want to sell shims i need to become a vendor.
I gave away all the shims i had ( 7 in total) my plan to sell them at 6 bucks would have covered the stamp 1 dollar and 5 dollars to have shims made. This was a break even venture to try and help out all who may need them.
I have no interest in becoming a vendor as i am not in any way in business so going fwd i am happy to provide the dimensions and hopefully you guys can have them made at a reasonable cost.
Again sorry if i upset the owner of the site that was not my intention. I simply wanted to help out as many as i could for all the great advice you guys have given to me on my sidewinder woes

thx Geoff

PM me as well please and thanks!

Please pm me the dimensions for the shims. Thanks

I received the shim but did not install it until I did spring maintenance. I also installed Scott Taylor gears top and bottom so they are both the same width as the chain now.
I hopefully wont know how things stood up until next spring maintenance again.

Using a good straightedge from one gear to the other, in my sled, it would have been impossible to shim the top gear out far enough to get it in perfect alignment with the bottom gear. So, if both gears were same width, the chain would not be straight from one to the other. Good news for me is the bottom gear is 13 wide and top is 15 so chain can align. Anyone else notice this?

When I installed the Taylor 15 wide gears in mine I left the chain off initially to check the alignment with a straight edge. With the shim installed the gears lined up perfectly...this was all done at the end of March and I just don't remember which side of the top gear I used the shim on?

Don't think you'd want to shim in front of the top gear , this would lessen the amount of contact with the mesh gear/mechanism and there isn't a lot there to begin with.
